The Real question is: Can Biden ever be an effective President? Of course not. What a silly question.
He is from Mayo, it will be fine. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/...l-hometown-ballina-revels-win-london-n1248080
Covid is raging across America and Americans are dying by the thousands and Trump is rage tweeting and nowhere to be found. There is plenty of work that can be done on Covid. Trump’s presidency will be long remembered as one of the worst, if not the worst, but these final days of frivolous law suits that smack of desperation and failure while thousands of Americans die will be the textbook example of uncaring self interest and abdication.
What would you, if elected and put into instant power right this minute, do on COVID? I'm making the assumption you have some great ideas as you've stated that there is plenty of work that can be done on COVID.
Trump Has Abdicated in the Face of Disaster The nation faces an unprecedented crisis, and the president has left a void. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/11/president-has-abdicated/617139/
1. I would lead by example and work to get the support of the American people to take precautionary measures. 2. I would work with Governors to get them supplies and resources and publicly support their mitigation efforts 3. I would continue to work with congress to get a relief package through 4. I’d make public the recommendations of the CDC and the council and work to build reporting o. Spread down to the zip code and institute transmission level codes green through red. 5. I’d work with the President elects team to make sure they are prepared to take over You know, basic leadership.
Even if the answer is just as simple as let the medical and scientist experts removed from politics provide information and data, that is 1000% more than what Trumptittie and the Dems did... Call all the Governors regardless of state color and share the information and arm them with it to make the best decisions for their states with Federal support promised. NOT go up and say things will magically go away. It is easy to say "This could develop into a serious situation if we do not take the right precautions now. We are not going to take any drastic steps but we need to warn the public and start managing contacts with people who travelled outside this country in last 2 months and do some self quarantines. etc..." Not...we will have 15 cases and nothing more... real easy to do... create a Corona Task Force and .... I don't know... let them speak maybe... But no, Trump hated that they got attention and credit so he had to jump in front and talk about bleach enemas.
So let's review this. Because some of it has substance and is complicated, but a lot of it is hot air. 1. "Lead by example and work to get the support of the American people". You can't be serious. First, "lead by example" means what in regards to COVID? You're going to self-isolate as the President? Wear a mask? You think this is going to suddenly change the tens of millions of people who hate you at every turn of the hat? Empty rhetoric is all this is. Half the voting population (or nearly so) thinks the elections are untrustworthy. And you're going to not address this but try to bring them together on COVID? Good luck! 2. Work with the governors to get supplies and resources. Can you cite some specific examples? I'm not aware of governors not getting what they need. Maybe you are. I'd like to know specifics. Because if all you mean is you would "support them" then again, empty rhetoric. 3. Relief package. This is the one that has the biggest promise. But Trump was trying to do that, and Pelosi and Schumer had other ideas of what it should look like. What makes you think you'd be able to push this through in a time of bitter partisanship? 4. I didn't understand what you said here. Can you clarify? 5. Absolutely something Trump should be doing and is failing at. But this won't stop the spread of the virus. Even if Trump started working very closely with Biden at this point, no effect would occur for months. Not to the transmission or death rate.
