I won't waste a lot of time talking slave history with a racist, but here: https://www.pbs.org/wnet/african-am...oss/history/how-many-slaves-landed-in-the-us/
Took me less than a minute to see that "perhaps" a total of millions were slaves in "The New World". I doubt if someone actually had a counter set up to count them. And I underestimated: "And how many of these 10.7 million Africans were shipped directly to North America? Only about 388,000. That’s right: a tiny percentage."
This gets into the other reality... many more blacks came voluntarily to the U.S. after 1865 as immigrants then came to the U.S. as slaves before 1865. Which leads to the other reality is that the percentage of "U.S. slave ancestor" blood (from a genes perspective) is small in most U.S. Blacks. Many only have a family tree from Blacks who came to the U.S. voluntary after 1865, From a geographic distribution the percentage of Blacks in the South with a U.S. slave ancestor is greater than other parts of the U.S. generally. Even today there are many blacks in the U.S. South that can point out where their slave ancestors worked and show you their graveyards. None of this takes away from the wrongs and evil of slavery. But it does imply that many people in our country demanding "reparations" due to U.S. slavery don't really have a case.
That is true. Just was trying to provide some context. There were earlier discussions on this subject in context of reparations way back. That discussion had a lot of information and figures on immigration by time period, etc.
I does have a serious affect on my health. I have been celebrating both Biden's and Harris's victory and the realization that sealing indictments for Federal crimes would prevent Donald from beating an indictment by running out the clock. I am so happy right now! I feel Great. Now if they drag Trump out of the White House in cuffs , that would be icing on the cake.
