nitro, Thank you for accepting my invitiation to read all of the posts in this thread. I am pleased that you considered my invitation and honored. I am saddened that I may have wasted your time, and feel I owe you something. But may I debate with you, without being defensive? Lets speak the truth without being mis-understood as being egotistical or closed-minded. We are not trying to compete with one another or prove one another wrong. You know you would blow me away... Trade the ES with this, if you have the capital...use whoever. Tell me one instrument you can trade in 1 cent increments or less that allows you to pay commisission out of the flow of the market...If there are other alternatives please share... Thank you for you time. Michael B. P.S. There are two methods to illustrate that trading is not gambling. I am quite surprised you do not see the measurable points that these methods illustrate. question: Do you agree that there are instruments traded that flow would exceed capacity?
electric - jordan has practiced and spent enough time to developed his skill...as well has enough passion and love for the game....and think he can also do it in other sports he got into... about his retirement...well..you know his bad gambling habits..and you heard of the russian mob right? er..maybe lets not talk about this......
But what were his precepts his model was based on? Will his system always work? I think Nitro, could attest to this and contribute. But even better, Lets not turn this into just another thread about "gambling or Not".... I propose to DEMONSTRATE through those two examples. Michael B.
electricsavant - do you think people who got real holy grails will announce it to the public at large? am afraid for the many hopeful folkes here.....the real stuff is not sold or shared or given away....i believe most take it with them literally...like how warren buffet really makes his money..or even guys like J.P. Morgan... do you think guys like in the market wizard books are going to really give away how they make their money? even don bright how really he made his money? or paul tudor jones will announce to the public that he is teaching/sharing everything he knows about the market..... that he be taking in students to succeed like him?! hey people....we EACH had to REALLY DO OUR OWN HOMEWORK....... at best...at most we can get some hints and bits here and there but still in the very end...it is still a very private and personal journey search.....
perhaps best is ask the market winners whether they are gambling or not....maybe they are more qualified to answer the question than most people out there.(i do not mean to offend) even the polls being conducted here...i do question their relevance...because we got a mere sampler of traders..and then those care or dont care to vote so the results is not really a representative of the real universe of traders example the poll about who is successful and consistently profitable...last seen was 40 something percent here...assuming all those who did the poll are telling the truth....it will already prove the distortion with the reality of traders out there..as most folkes didnt not vote especially the ones who are not profitable....so that poll shows that polls here at ET itself is a distortion of reality and cannot be use as basis to help us know, understand things about the markets a very poor sampler of data/information/representative of reality out there...
gambling?! hmmmm...but because we want to make money,to win,to earn...we have ah..."cheat"...get some edge of other traders...so that they..the others ARE gambling...but..you are not..... example....there is a bicycle race....but one contestant is using a f*cking motorcycle in the race!!!! is he gambling or not in that race?! assuming there is not rules in the books that says he cant use a motorcycle in the race....
marketdancer, Before the winners became winners were they losers? were they gamblers? were they lucky? Could they have the answers and it took time for them to prove it? All I ask is that you visit the Journal from time to time. Michael B.
