Really... It is like asking on an Irish forum: Are Irishmen smart? What do you think, the result would be?
like poker, it always has an element of randomness to it as well as skill -- it's your ability to recognize & trade high-probability setups & use correct stops/position sizing that makes it more skill than gambling; trading is capitalizing on slight edges
sure re skillful; I played thousands of hands of blackjack using andy bloch's brilliant basic strategy (mit bj team) in vegas for years before moving to hold 'em; but since the house has an edge, you still lose, though much more slowly. unless you join a counting team pre-shufflemaster, old days
ahhh...back in the day I bought "The Worlds Greatest Blackjack Book" (Lance Humble Ph.D. & Carl Cooper Ph.D.) & Playing BlackJack as a Business (Lawrence Revere) and got myself warned by a dealer at Caesar's to remember the "eye in the sky". I got those books somewhere on my bookshelf...ahhh those were the days. Don't you hate it when people borrow books from you and do not return them! I decided to give it up. Vote now. What Say you? Es
The results (so far) are displayed on p1, if you've voted. It currently stands at 65.2% "Not gambling", after 14 years of voting. Jeez, even Brexit didn't take that long.
Yes, decisive like trading. When you place a trade you know the result beforehand. Trading is a foregone conclusion of winning, that's why it's not gambling. ET'ers predominantly know trading is not gambling, we are all rich, elite, FOS.
