Is TradeStation as "buggy" as QuoteTracker?

  1. Are YOU even paying the 7 bucks a month for QT?

    (I know, that is a LOT of $$$ isn't it?)...:p

  2. Can I ask what you mean by "little slow for futures"?

Do you mean slow executions, or?...

  3. BTW:

I think that instead of opening this thread comparing what I know
about QT to what I know about TS (nothing) was kind of well... dumb...

I realized today the only way I will be able to know whether TS is
any better than QT is to actually open an account with them.

    Aok

Yes. Slow is a relative term. We're not talking minutes, but more seconds than you are used to.

Some latency in execution. Nothing too worrisome. But in ES, ticks count. If you are not a short term trader, not a problem.

For stocks this is not a factor. Fills are in a blink.

Try it for yourself. They will credit you 30 day trial. Then all you have to do is make X trades per month in whatever stock/future/fx you trade and platform/charts/radarstation/optionstation is free.

For example 10 round turn futures contracts. 25k shares of stock. Dont know what FX is.

For what you get, this is a great deal.

This is the only way to know anything.

    Test it.

For me, the only reason why I use TS is easylanguage which Ive used for some time and can write stuff on the fly. The best software is the one you know how to use and are effective with. But mostly for Radarstation. Bit of a resource hog. But a current rig will handle it no problemo.

I have multiple backups and use others for the majority of my executions.

TS is solid. So is QT.

  5. Well allthough there are plenty of yea votes I must add mine to the list. A long time user of QT and a big fan. I never have any problems but I only track a few futures contracts.

  6. Thanks for the reply Aok. You have really been a big help...:)

I plan on opening an account with TS. I just kind of hope I don't
turn into a backtesting, easy language writing, indicator writing,
backtesting again over and over automated trading obsessive-compulsive maniac.

But then again, this sounds like this is where I need to go next. (OCD kicking in).. LOL...

Into the wild frontiers of space itself...:p

As long as it doesn't take me away from what I am already doing: Trading...:(

  7. YEAH Jerry&Co what the hell are you guys doing ?

I love QT and have been using it for years but it has become buggy as hell !

You must have hired away some IB developers !! IT MUST BE THAT HUH? !

  8. I will add myself to the plenty of yea votes also. I have always been
a big defender of QT for years...and years...

I guess I just need to see if TS has anything over QT when it comes
    to charting, bugs... ect...

Sounds like the execution thing might be a problem though.

So I will keep my QT, and my IB account in case I run right back...:p

  9. Kicking - as I said before - if you have a problem, email us about it - chances are we can get the issue cleared up very quickly. I am not aware of any serious issues in the current production release.

  10. I think one of the things that has got me riled up lately is I have
had QT crash a couple of times which is the first time this has
happened in years I believe. And I would lose all my chart settings.

I had gotten complacent and was not backing up my files.
After the 2nd time I have gotten back into backing up my files.

(At least I wasn't losing my paintbars, that would of been a nightmare)...:p
