I tune into his channel twice a day and he is an upstanding guy, even gives his book profits away to a homeless charity which can be verified on his channel. Yes he's not perfect but no one is and the fact he live streams his trades for 3 hours a day, every day and provides a resource channel completely free of charge makes him very different to most
Unfortunately I think he is a bit of a scammer. I attended his event in Bangkok this weekend, and it was literally 4 hours talking about psychology, lots of random anecdotes about ex-wives and riptides, and not much else. Every question that was technical or related to setups and trading was brushed aside, and the reason was to hook people into a very expensive 'second day' event, which we could sign up for, if we wanted real insight. I felt kinda cheated after sitting for hours and hours.
I have listened in on his free trading live chat for a couple of months and hence can say with some degree of confidence that he isn't a scammer. Yes, he likes to make jokes. You have to remember, he is only talking to himself. Everyone else is just listening. With trading, there is lots of waiting. I also read his book, and yes, its mostly about psychology, and that is because this is the biggest hurdle to success. I honestly found his trades to me very late, and where he is going long, I would want to be shorting. But somehow, he made those trades work. Now he has been struggling a bit in the past 6 months or so, but still profitable overall. But all his trades were real, called out in real time, and you could follow them if you wanted to. You just had to be aware that he can take a large loss, and maybe it was a few in a row, and maybe the day was only profitable because of trading the European session. So for you trading the US session it might be a loss, but for him, it was an overall gain. A workshop is very expensive to organize, so I'm not surprised he has to charge money for it. And I think psychology is the biggest barrier to success. He has lots of free resources you can download that show how he trades. What I did find was that his published trading strategies didn't match too much what he was doing in real time. He is constantly evolving his strategies, and I guess seeing how lots of trades aren't working anymore. But this is the trading game.
Seems like you didn't listen to what I said at all. If you are advertising a trading seminar, why waste everyone's time talking about things that no one came to listen and learn from. And by the way, we all PAID to be there. The upsell was the second day, where you get the real info. That's a scam.
Ah... got it. You didn't mention in your first post that you paid for it, just that you felt your time was wasted. But yes, if you paid for the seminar and didn't get any trading talking points, that would suck. Its amazing how much he gives away for free in his chat to be honest. Its easy to sign up, and you can listen to him trade live. But like I say, he has been having a rough patch and is taking some time off I think. I haven't listened to him live in a long time, but still browse the chats logs every now and then to get updates.
So you're saying that as he has been going through a rough patch that justifies scamming people? Yeah great logic. Honestly reading your messages make me feel like you're just a paid shill acting on his behalf. What him going through a rough patch has to do with misrepresenting a seminar in order to dupe people into attending to get them to spend more money after more money is plain wrong. Now I see why many other posters in this forum are questioning his honesty and legitimacy. Even the broker guy he pulled up on stage to talk for a few moments couldn't genuinely give any trading return numbers, saying that if he did he could be investigated...that's not even true, he would only be investigated IF the numbers he gave were false. Another MASSIVE RED FLAG. It's soooo obvious why these guys never publish statements or show how they trade in real time (audio only, seriously?) because very quickly you would see that they are scam artists or their results are no better than yours or mine , destroying their mystique and following immediately... No need for you to write back with another false defense of Hougaard. My comment speaks for itself.
Hello dude, attended his seminar in Bangkok 2 days ago, and yes you are right. Very scammy. Hours of talk about everything but trading. When asked specific trading questions he avoided answering or was just vague as hell. No talk about setups, indicators or anything of actual value trading wise, just lots of talk about mindset, pictures of David Goggins and Tony Robbins. Disappointed to say the least, but as Tony Robbins himself said, these guys are not our gurus. I'm just glad I could find that out with my own eyes. I'm also beginning my trading journey and have learned so much from books, and serious YouTube channels like SMB capital's channel. Steer away from these guys, they literally make money from us, by sending is to their brokers for commissions, offering courses, or signing us up to their trade signal channels. All a waste of money. Work hard, learn, educate yourself, it's the only way.
Listen dingdong... as I said, you never mentioned in your first message you paid for the seminar, so that is on you. And me mentioning he is going through a rough patch is to explain why he perhaps isn't trading live as much as he used to. And you're something else for suggesting I'm a paid shill when you signed up.... yesterday (and have only posted about Tom)! Go fuck yourself dingdong.
As I said earlier and say again. I never asked for your comment or totally biased defense of Trader Tom. I have only posted about Tom because I am ultra pee'd about being taken advantage of. Anyone reading this can see how fake your comments are. You probably are TraderTom, or someone with a vested interest in defending him. I, on the other hand simply don't want people to waste their time or money as I did. Your language is comical. Am I offended? No. Why? Because you are simply proving my points. I deal in facts. You deal in insults. Your credibility here is gone. Pipe down, and tune into Tom's 'audio' trading tips! Clown business... Hot tip..Oracle long. Buy Pre-Market. Hold and swing into earnings. That's for free. Thank me tomorrow.
You're paying money to see a trading seminar and yet you're giving out trading advice??? My lord... at this rate, I might as well also come to you for medical advice as well.
