I can't agree more. And a person who can admit mistakes and apologize and move on to me is a much more settled and intelligent person than someone who calls everyone stupid, dumb, asshole who disagrees with him. I did not join too long ago but some individuals on this site are extremely vile and display a shockingly limited intellect. Seems to be OK to possess such qualities in the politics forums but some of those depressed individuals clearly carry their fragile personalities and attitudes over into all the other forum threads.
OMG. What does that even mean? Why you have to announce to everyone you decided to ignore someone? And why spill the ink and waste the time to first engage with them you disagree with so vehemently that you apparently can't tolerate seeing their posts anymore? Can't accept my curiosity either? Knock yourself out, mate. Otherwise I wish you a nice weekend.
Oh great, my first ignore! I don't know if I should cry or party down; that's it, it's a party! One thing I have noticed, is that those that choose to create an argument out of many threads on this site, always change what was stated in the post, the true intent of the meaning of the post or just fabricate what they want to be facts, when in reality, so much of what is being discussed is just opinion. Then there is still the real gems on this site that I search out and read everything they had to say; they of course never get involved in these pissing matches!!
Did you also look at "System Memory" when you ran all those tasks at the same time? It is the tab page in between CPU and "Disk Activity". By the way: I'm sorry to see how much your thread has derailed, away from your original question. I hope that you will still be able to make a choice which suits you.
I find myself at a loss, I can put down a slab for foundation of houses, can do the carpenter, lay brick, do most electrical, till completed but when it comes to building or touching inside of computers/laptops, they fry up, one got so hot started a fire or never work, so I end up paying for another motherboard and more components and hand the bag to computer tech which in my case is cheaper and still get exactly what I want when building a specialized unit, usually for backtesting. When I back test it is either tick data going back fifteen years or daily going back 25-50 years over more than 20k different symbols. But I still use some home P/Cs from late 80s, one weighs 70lbs, I actually use them as a reminder of where I came from in life and for the reasons I continue to work, and they are personal. Backtesting machines I now will replace every seven years. I should make a YouTube video on what not to do, comic relief. I think what most do not think about is "Time", what is your time worth to you? People seldom consider or for that matter even review stats on average over past year or ten, when you trade how much do you make an hour on average? And this average should go up each year cause knowledge increases and I have always included time of formulating ideas so in a way I get this paid hourly as well in back testing and it is deducted off what I make hourly in before manual trading and now automatic/and the amount of the past time to gain all this knowledge reduces or gets eaten depending how long it took you to become profitable, so my "in my past time of 7 years of losing to learn to scalp and backtesting which be another 7 years but all crammed into 7 years is like depreciated out like a mortgage and subtracted of trading part to get a net of what my time is worth, all that was paid back in few years of being profitable. Also included in equipment, internet, T-1 phone charges, room, etc...As years have gone by, my hourly over ten hour day been going up up up especially with automation. But to me this is an interesting stat, so when there is a job to do, it is cheaper for me to have someone else do it or do I have to do it. But if you having a shop put it together, I would ask that when I pick it up they have motherboard exposed and I will come with magnifying glass to see if parts I ordered are actually used in machine, you be surprised how many times they have tried a switch and I get stuck buying and not getting, once you leave the shop-you screwed. I Trust none of them, put most up there with used car salesmen. Companies do buy in bulk so THEY make more and very little passed on to customer. Guys, we all have ego's size of aircraft carrier, we have specialized talents that most of the world don't have or can afford. I certainly have my weaknesses which are many actually, I am very good at just a few areas. And computer equipment is not one of them with the exceptions of what I do and what is needed for my way of life. I applaud all that posted, and different opinions, and done with manners, we can agree to disagree. Have a fun weekend, but life is long with the exception of those we care about. Giving our time to others is truly all we can give to others.
To all that disagreed with me, I apologize, I was wrong! When it comes to abilities, we all have certain gifts; I often forget that when something comes natural and is easy for me, it doesn't mean that the same task will treat others as well. It was wrong for me to suggest that anyone can slap together a computer build in an hour, yes an hour; I expect others may take a day and when they plug it in, it blows up. Of course, I expect those same others have talents much greater than me in many other areas, we are all different. Again, I apologize to all that I insulted; I was wrong! Have a great weekend!
Sounds kind of patronizing but okay. You still misunderstand the point. It's not that I cannot do the steps to build my own computer. It's that I don't want to. Like I am perfectly capable of changing my own car engine oil or tire. I just don't want to. So I take it to a shop. They can have my $50 bucks or $100 bucks. I'll make it all back in the next hour or less. Hehe.
Well, you're still a jerk! LOL You don't get my point either, There isn't a computer on the market with the exact specifications I wanted and those custom build shops charge a boat load to build it the way I wanted it, so I built it myself and saved over $500 from the nearest offering. I do a lot of things myself, today I'm putting new carpet on my dock, I guess I enjoy working with my hands, just as much as I do my brain!
