Jean Michael your system only works in a trending market. As all your gifs show that the market was trending lower. As we all know the market is not that friendly or predictable. There are many other days where your "holy grail" will fail. Itâs fine to pick out a few examples that suit your system but at best it is no better than any of the others out there. I have tested many systems that include all types of technical analysis. At the end of the day they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Here is my HOLY GRAIL 1. Finding a system that is at least 50% right and sticking to it. 2. Money management Your wins are double your losses. Eg Take 3 points or lose 1.50 pts. Do not rely on indicators to get you in and out of a market. Set your parameters and stick to it. It takes out all the guess work. 3. Psychology That thing between your ears is your greatest enemy. Master the mind and master trading. 4. HARD WORK
you're right in every way fzandona ! That's why i say to JM to give more example's of chart's (every day). And not only a good strike but also the bad ones which EVERY trader experience in his search to his trade- "plan". He claims he only trade with the 1min charts and therefore cannot post the charts for the 8 tradingshours. A small excuse in my eyes. I can give you so much charts as you like JM the internet has no chartlimits to store ;-) Give the entry/exit 1 min charts of the trades of the day. That would give more clarity to the point. And you earlier said that you trade only between 9:30-11:30 and 14:00-16:00 EST so that makes only 4 tradinghours to chart ! Waiting on a respond of JM himself. Trade Safe.............
fzandona, Excellent post. I agree with the spirit of what you are saying, having studied, tested and used several of the best systems available - and built a couple good ones myself. Here's a few points from my experience: A. In case one is a poor loser, like me, there's no need to settle for a 50-50% system - this number can be taken up a bit into the 60%s and even the 70%s in some instances. B. At the same time, the ratio of the size of winners to losers will adjust: smaller winners, larger losers, but still making good total profit. C. If I could add a 5th item on your list of four, that would be: 5. LUCK (let's face it, there's does not seem to be a workable way around that one )
thank you for your help. You referring to EMA. I am new to Metastock. I cannot locate EMA in indicators table. I have as you suggested: 1. Parabolic Sar 2. MACD Histogram I cannot find the following 1. EMA 2. AWESOME OSCILLATOR 3. Stochastic with Bands (is this Stochastic oscilator?) 4. in you previous massages you reffering also to Stopp/loss indicator, I do not see that one also. I realy wont to try your system. Please help me to set it up. Thank you Roman

just a few minutes ago inandlong brought this thread to my attention and it looks promising. (thankyou once again inandlong my first question is what happened to this thread? why did it fizzle out? has anyone backtested this system or is anyone presently using this to trade real money? jeanmich are you still around these parts? are you still using this system of yours with success? is anyone out there...
Moving average crossover methods will consistently put you in position to take significant profits. Unless of course you don't know what you are doing and are looking for some sort of guaranteed trading method. If you actually understand what the stochastic and macd are telling you, and when to use a moving average crossover method, you will make excellent profits. On the other hand, if you want to slap them on a chart and start trading them, then you are going to get spanked. Some people can't hit the driver. Is the driver a useless club? For some people it is. No matter how much they practice with it, they still suck. But the key is... they suck, not the club. Me, 250 with that nice little right-to-left draw. Yeah it took some work on understanding the swing, and a lot of balls at the range. But the problem wasn't the club. It was learning how to use it.
