The definition is it must negate CO2 present in the atmosphere, not prevent more output into it. If all hydrocarbon process were flipped to renewals overnight, energy production would remain and carbon release would seize (aka neutral), but already present CO2 and its greenhouse effect would not disappear.
What do you think of it as a car? I am thinking of getting it or something else electric once my elderly Honda dies.
We had an 85 but my wife bought an S P100D. It's awesome. The power is insane. We have the 240V hookup and there are enough Superchargers nearby to make it seamless. We can almost make it to SF from Tahoe on a single charge. We could, but we stop for a 30-minute charge on the way. I would probably go with the Model 3 Performance if you're going to garage it in NYC.
Ha. Yeah, the first thing that came up on youtube when I searched for Model 3 was this: As a side note, the natural performance of electric vehicles is insane. I did a test-drive of Lightning (the previous model) a while ago while I still had my motorcycle license. No shifting and torque - I nearly shit myself.
I'd hold off on the model 3. First two years are always riddled with problems, and that's with established OEMs. Can't even imagine what rushed hand finished 3's are gonna be like. The X SUV from what I read is unreliable, much having to do with its doors. The S seems to have scored high reliability wise even from the beginning, but it's a whole nother price point. I wonder what low mileage used ones are going for? Though can't imagine Tesla honoring warranties in those cases. Been seeing a few Jaguar ipaces around though can't comment
Jaguar... 18% RV after five years. Good choice. Honor warranty on a low mileage used car?! The warranty is on the car; not the owner. sle, go with the Model 3 (2170 batteries).
I have no issues with the car. It's a 2018. We don't get a lot of rain here, but it's been driven in the rain (lol) and I've had no issues with the fish bowl headlights, etc. The model S fit and finish is always going to be their best. We have three cars, but one is SCCA prepped so not driven as a commuter. I drive an '18 STI with wing-delete, PPG dogbox, race clutch, 420hp to the wheels. I love the gear noise from the car, but it's really nice to drive the Tesla when I can. No road noise (no noise at all) until you open the window. It's eerie.
