The technicalities of the cars are irrelevant, some people will buy them good or bad. What is relevant is a badly managed, unprofitable company run by a narcissist, who never had a profitable company not sucking on the government's tits. It takes 700 MM a year just to service Tesla's debt. That means interest alone, not paying back any of the 10 B owned. Advertising costs money, servicing costs money, so they don't do that or not expanding it. Imagine I own a 100K luxury car and suddenly a bunch of nobodies are buying the cheapo 40K versions clogging up charging stations and service time. That would piss me off. That is why Porsche doesn't do a mass version...
Two years ago you'd be lucky to see a Tesla on the road in Tahoe. I see literally dozens each day. It's nearly as common as a Toyota here. It's unbelievable.
Speaking of MB, I wish they'd build this Maybach concept electric. https://www.designboom.com/technology/mercedes-maybach-6-cabriolet-concept-08-21-2017/
The EQC interior looks great, but looks like any luxury ICE dash. The EQC weighs 4500lbs at 400hp. The Model S P100D weighs 200lbs less and has 600hp and >900lb-ft of torque. I much prefer the large flat panel to the EQC conventional dash layout. Nice looking, though.
all of these upcoming cars are great (i hope) and all of them are here and in development thanks to success of Tesla there will be no end of Tesla..just the end of ICE.
Or maybe they knew not to enter the market heavily with EVs until they could make profit on them? I’m glad to see more EV choice. Tesla electric tech is good but so are others and hard to differentiate. Outside design is OK but getting a bit old now and needs updating. Always thought the interior let them down. Eventually the ICE may end but only when the EVs match their lower up front costs and faster charging rates.
