Is This The End Of Tesla ?

  1. These are all great points that I would probably refute if I cared enough... But Musk is no Ford. He's more like a combination of Wozniak and Jobs. Wants to do huge things, and is a nerd.

  4. your focus is so narrow on the EV/Tesla issue my head is spinning. suffice to say; the speed , track times etc etc is simply a small part of the debate.

instead of nitpicking on what you (and all the others) are missing consider that an entire (largest in the world) industry is putting billions (each.ie:volkswagon) to EV... why is this so?

As long as the batteries and charging times don't improve dramatically these EV are no option.
If batteries can do 500 miles in ANY condition (so not to worry about the real range because of using lights, airco, or low temperatures) and batteries cannot load in a few minutes, they are no option.

  6. For a decade it took hours to recharge my phone. People found ways to work around it. Are you really that small minded

I cannot replace my actual car with any EV because I would lose lots of time. I cannot do a 10 hours trip with my car, using an EV that will take me 2 days to do the same trip. I would have to fully recharge 2 times before I can reach my destiny and drive much slower. It's about practicality, not about small minded. And there should be enough charging points (Europe).

I make money in trading by not being small minded. But you should be realistic and check all other options. My best option now is to not buy an EV car.

  8. OK mr trader man, how often do you need to do 10 hour trips? I presume that it is more common in Europe for some reason even though one of the major selling points for many European cities are walkability.

If you are making a case against something by picking at the perimeter, then your core argument is weak.

Core argument: EVs are not useful because you can't do extreme things with them.

Observation: city slickers on the coasts are using Teslas and other EVs just fine. A lower middle class family I know has a EV (not Tesla) that they charge in the carport every night.

Schweiz doesn't even drive. Dude is a shut in.

How difficult is it to plan a trip? My daily driver is an ICE and we have an S model. Takes me about 20 seconds to locate Superchargers and Chargepoint stations from the EV maps. We made it to SF this past weekend without charging. Wife drove. Made all the difference.

Our maid has a pre owned Nissan Leaf. I saw a homeless guy in LA on an electric scooter. EV's may be penetrating lower socio econ levels. :D
