Is this monitor finished ?

  1. One of my screens seems to be overheated, just like a car with a bad radiator.

For the first few hours of the day everything works as usual. Then about ten o'clock the monitor starts making this faint humming sound. After about five minutes it goes black screen. The power doesn't turn off but the monitor loses the picture.

If I turn the monitor off for a few minutes and turn it back on, the monitor will last for only a few seconds. This has happened the past three days.

I tried switching monitors and the new monitor works find on the PC where this problem originally happened.

Has anyone else had this problem?

It looks like a hardware problem within the monitor. I don't think this thing has a warranty. I bet I'm gonna have to lay out some cash for a new one.

  2. I have an old monitor where the picture goes on and off every few minutes. I don't use it anymore.

  3. Tums

one of the capacitor is no good.
a honest shop won't charge you too much.

any TV/radio repair shop can do this for you, but a computer shop will only change the motherboard, which is expensive.

but then, nobody wants to do repairs anymore.
