My brother has lived and worked in Monaco for 4 years now, not as a trader though. I took him about a year to get residency status and I think he said it cost about a 1000 euros all in. I could ask him for the finer details if anybody is interested. Monaco - superb place to live!
In order to gather residency in Monaco one has to show proof of living there, i.e. rent or buy an house/flat. Real estate is probably amongst the most expensive worldwide.
That's what I heard too. I knew people who where buying a flat in 5 or even more and kept it for years unused. Then it was said you can ask for a residency there after a given number of years. But that's only a 'I heard that'. Not to be taken as a truth.
Right, i think the prices are the same than around central park. A small condo 20 m² is about â¬2000 for rent, more than 1M for sale. For thoses prices you have the pleasure to get nearly 1 cop / resident. Finances and police are rule with french government partnership. A frenchman living in Monaco must pay the same taxes than in France (thanks De Gaulle ) .
I remeber having seen a TV special on Monaco. They showed a guy who purposedly left on his open Porsche a 100 Euro bill. Anyone could have grasped it. Hors later the same guy came back and saw money was still there. Probably 100 Euro was not enough...
I know of a guy who left his ferrari open all night with the keys on it when he went out and came back in the morning, the car was still there... If you know that they can block all routes to leave Monaco in 1 minute, it is understandable...
Was in Monaco back in June of this year. Seen an apartment for sale in a very tall apartment complex ( looked ugly ), was an architect design, 94 square meters for a 1,000,000 euro. I am assuming that this means white walls and no floors.
Means that you need 100k in your bank account, after you bought yourself an ugly apartment (94 sq. mtrs) ?
