  1. I get IDB... Just saying the the guys I shaddowed with were quite knowledgeable and a group I'd feel confident working with.

    But yeah... 9/10

They should sponsor your series exams. You can't hold a license without a sponsorship anyway.

And I've never heard of not already having a license being a gating factor for a hiring decision.

  4. Thanks for the reply, I should have been more specific.
I find great value in trading, however I find trading at home, alone to be unfulfilling. I do want to trade for a living, preferably with a firm.

  5. So, you want to trade, but go to "Happy Hour" afterwards.
    Nothing wrong with that.
    Been there done that.

But I really think is that you are trying to enter an industry which
is at the tail end of a gigantic 45 year bull market.
I think you would need some serious credentials from Wharton Business (or similar) right now.
The big hitters (Dalio, Berkshire Hathaway, Appaloosa, etc) never stop interviewing.

Otherwise, save your pennies, trade your own account.
At least you can hang on, and not fill out applications at home Depot.

For myself, I have NEVER found trading to be boring.
Sometimes stressful, but not boring until I was doing it a long time.
And at that point, it only becomes boring by hitting a bunch of good trades in a row.
And you are pals with your CPA.

  6. Of course if you trade for yourself, you do not get a W-2 for that.
    You get a 1099.
But you already know that, being a successful trader and all.
