1. 3 years to turn the corner, 3 more years to make meaningful dough 2. No 3. yes, all the time. Never blown up an account tho Would never consider mentoring. You fly and die alone in this business. You cannot succeed as a copycat here. Only if you figure it out for yourself you can find a unique niche.
Teaching someone to trade is the hardest job to do. Even if you give them the keys to the kingdom so to speak. They will do as they please! People have biases and bad habits are hard to get rid of. Lot of precious man hours spent for nothing!
Is there a real professional profitable day/swing trader in here? i've been here for some 11 years and I saw ONLY ONE! ha ha ! and i'm not even sure i'd call him a swing trader.. jesus christ people, this site has very little /if nothing/ to do with trading ,except perhaps taxes and execution, stuff like that/..it's mainly for entertainment the point is to click so that Baron can make a buck or two
hahahahaha, behold just one enlightened one amongst a Herd of hundreds if not thousands. . And what an entertaining site it is! One does not come here for swing traders, one comes here for swing dancers.
Sure appears that way. Very little discussion about the essential elements of modern day trading. Most of the knowledgeable quant and technology guys don’t seem to stick around long, or don’t post much.
Freebie for thou, spot only this one apparently universal trading method at ET, then NEVER do it, not ever. Just this alone will increase your odds of success significantly. Take a rip roaring downtrend starting all the way from the bend in the trend as in October 2007. Firstly ET would be universally Long for several months thereafter. Why? They never see a TURN coming and when it does arrive, it takes them ages to get over the shock. But here's the most peculiarvthing they do: even when they snap out of the shock they will never go short = go with the flow, they will only go Long at whatever appears to be a rally, i.e. they only play the Bear Rallies. hahahahaha. ..... and all these decades, the suposed pros who came to ET who were hot traders, they all did the same. ....... see ET Hall of Fame and mention of hot traders and do your honework.
Freebie continued: There is a trader here, looks and smells like an oldtimer, but is very very different animal from the general recalcitrant, haughty, "know-doodly" oldtimers. You could ask this gent to at least show you what I have outlined above how ET trades. He does exactly that too. But your best way to learn this is by befriending him. He has a very pleasing personality, but don't mistake him for a pushover, he is anything but. He specializes in the Euro and has put out solidly good advice to newbies to just isolate an instrument, EurUsd preferred and trade only that and learn its character deep deep deep. This trader and only he may go in Peace. All his sins are forgiven. How will you find him? He wears a fancy 2-gun rig, is young and full of juice and encouragement, the exact opposite of the dying old curmudgeons here. His name is TradeViper
