Is there a real professional profitable day/swing trader in here?

  1. You had your offer from my day 1 at ET. Visit me for real. I offered it to you on day 1. But you are scared because you know if you show up at my house, you will have to put out, and put out in a big way and what's worse and terrifies you is that you are married and might never want to return to your husband ever again. You will be deeply ensconsced in Fibo-domain.

This terrifies you. All my documents will be there for you to read.

hahahahaha, ball's in your court, doll. :). :).

  2. Wow , I am immersed with the amount of responses/tips from traders here. Hopefully, someday when I become profitable...then looking back at this post and have a smile. Now back to chart reading/backtesting.

    Professional profitable day/swing trader?

Professional means mange OPM. Almost none of us amateur retails can ever be #1, or wants to be #1 but many of us are long term #2. :D

Think about it, why do we want to turn professional and mange OPM if we are profitable unless we want to go back to a day job?

Trading daily for a little over a year. I've been happy with how well I've done being self taught not using fancy formulas , codes, etc. I learned by doing. Never paper traded. I do however trade mostly the same 4 or 5 companies options so I know how they move. I had the worst week of my time trading last week. This is my first year paying taxes on trading and I was shocked at how well I did when I got my tax docs. I mean if you're opening 40 positions a week not all are going to be profitable. I do straight calls and puts tho. And I write calls on stock I own. Much riskier than straddles and such but I don't trade on margin. I'm not as versed in the markets as most of you or have the level of experience but since OP soinds very new to the markets I thought I'd add my experience thus far as a non seasoned trader.

    Overnight...very true.

Yet, there's away around that problem via an image of timestamp trade fills in the broker trade execution platform that also contains the chart(s), time & sales with the platform time when the trader is done trading for the day...whatever time that may be.

In contrast, the broker statement that comes out at night as your image shows will not show the above info and will primarily show the commissions & fees, opening balance, end of day balance and such.

Thus, two images may be needed...1st image during the trading day as soon as the trader is done trading that shows the above mentioned info and the 2nd image later at night when the broker emails the statement to the trader. Yet, be aware that many brokers that sends out that broker statement at night will not show the timestamp of the trade fills...just the trade fills, commissions & fees whereas a few out there do show the timestamps in the end of day broker statement.

Yet, a true naysayer will still not believe the above two images if shown because their mind is already fixed that its not real.

Anyways, I'm not sure why many brokers do not show the latter (timestamps with trade fills instead of trades without the timestamps in the statement they email you at night). Maybe brokers do that if there's problematic trade fill that the trader is complaining about and the broker doesn't want to post the full facts on paper about the trade just in case there's litigation ???

Seems a little odd that the night statement doesn't show the complete info because the trader still has access to the audit trail window and timestamp trade fill window within the trade execution platform itself just in case they need to print out the info or make a screenshot of the info or pullout their cell phone to take a screenshot that also capture the live streaming data in part of the screenshot or use the cellphone to take a screenshot when the emailed broker statement is viewed on the cellphone...maybe I just answered my own question. :D

Regardless, the only real proof is via in person sitting side by side with the trader as he/she trades from their trading account but very few will cross into that territory because of obvious reasons...you really do not know the person sitting next to you...very dangerous situation in today's world. o_O

Seriously, last thing you want to be doing is sitting next to someone that's a naysayer, mentally unstable, already has a problem with you and could be packing a weapon or has someone (undisclose) that's nearby waiting for that person to leave.

Too many documented situations where a trader/naysayer came to work or to someone's home with the intent to harm/kill...that's today's screwed up world when money is involved.

P.S. Never visit a naysayer and never allow a naysayer to visit you even in a public situation. So yeah, be scared for yourself and family.

  8. A very interesting topic, the essence is clearly articulated and excellent exact questions are given. Tell me, did you manage to find a successful trader?

  9. The two subscription services I once bought that actually helped were by former brokers who began trading for themselves, after (naturally) being immersed in The Market's moods, trends and spikes, and the people participating. They were from the era before online trading so they probably answered a million phone calls from customers who were losing money (and the occasional winner).

I agree with most of the advice here (study the market alone, trade a small account or sim, do not listen to Gurus). You never know where wisdom will appear but it's good to study the pros who are winning. One thread on this forum gave me the final piece I needed. -profitable amateur

Thank you, Buy1Sell2, sharp and truth.

This puzzle me - why people keep speak bad and false about ET? Could it be that they are kind of trolls sent from competition?
Sorry, this my post is deviation from OP but it is also to suggest to him - read more threads on ET, they are your mentors and do your own work then.
With tonnes of valid discussion on ET, all for free, how one could not bring respect and gratitude?
More - while many places are just traps for retails, Baron"s integrity make ET real safe island for independent traders.
To conclude - my thread against two gorilla banks was banned by well known British snobby traders blog, where they love to speak bad about ET; our story is banned by media, no one has courage to go against big institutions, it is easier to grab a bribe from them, then to fight together with us. But we found a great support here, thank you all.
And first of all thanks to Baron, with his real name and photos( contrary to his critics hidden under nickname).
So, OP, really until the Life may sent you a gift of a real trader friend and a wisdom to recognize and appreciate him, as it is already suggested here in other nice posts, make ET your treasure, just filter anonymous critical posters with no facts in it. :)
