I dont know who it is.

But there are 10`s of thousands succesfull small business owners and CEO`s in this great country.

Someone who can do basic math, runs a profitable company and makes hard decisions would be a good starting point though.

  5. You do know what bankrupted the USSR, right? It wasn't socialism...it was the cold war and the unnecessary military costs, stuff like invading Afghanistan, etc.

How bout we find a former military man who understands how in the 21st century we need to cut the shit out of our military budget?

    Colin Powell anyone?

President Barack Obama is recommending more spending on the Department of Defense in his fiscal year 2012 budget than House Republicans pushed for in the Continuing Resolution (CR), which keeps the government running through the rest of this fiscal year.

Yup, scaling back militarily is key. Historians dont call Afghanistan the "Empire crumbler" for nothing. It boggles the mind that the nobody wants to touch that issue for fear of being labeled un-patriotic. The USA was hugely productive during our neutral years. All that money could rebuild infrastructure and create massive jobs. Close every base abroad except Germany and Japan and then use 1/8 of all that money to secure borders.

I met him as Chairman of Joint Chief of Staff in 1993 when I served. He is one of those people that makes you feel humble, yet comfortable when you shake his hand. He would have my vote despite his Bush admin blunder.
