That's right. He didn't create this mess. I guess he was taking a completely different route during his tenure as CEO for GS.
Paulson like George W Bush will be vindicated in a decade. His efforts to fix the supposed crisis have been exemplary by working with congress to infuse liquidity. FDR faced a lot of detractors in his time, but now he's highly reveared. We must give Paulson time for this to work instead of jumping to comclusions.

If he chose to save Lehman Brothers the cost would be probably much lower than trying to fix all the aftermath.
