I have really good commissions. After moving money around from different brokers, I've settled with OpenEcry. I pay only $2.04 per RT all-in. It's not hte cheapest but very competitive
Well, with a $15,000 account I told them I expect to trade about 20 RTs per day. I also told them that my then current broker offered $2.04 per RT but that I'd be willing to transfer my funds over to OpenEcry if they would just match it. SO far it has worked out. But order execution seems kind of slow so I may be moving on soon.
My career is officially NOT OVER. Up to $16455 and happier than ever. And when I get back up to $40,000, I will be in much better shape than I was with my initial $40,000. I've learned so much. Though anything is possible, I really don't anticipate making the same mistakes I made before. Thanks to those of you that offered helpful advice
What kind of idiot trades before the FOMC announcement? lol......made some dumb mistakes today selling bonds all day in anticipation of a rate hike........don't I already know that this rate hike is already priced into the market? Sometimes I really dissappoint myself. Down $468 today on 24 contracts. Hopefully I can make a comeback at 2:15pm We will see
It's tempting to trade but I traded this morning and I'm done for the day. Regardless of whether a rate hike is priced in or not, or whatever else they say, market is going to swing wildly up and down. I don't need that stress today I would suggest taking the day off and trade tomorrow whatever the trend is into the closing today. good luck. I enjoy reading this thread by the way,... both losses and winnings and how you manage to cut losses etc.
Thanks for your reply. I usually don't trade FOMC at 2:15pm but rather wait and see what tone the accouncement creates in the bond market so I can trade it throughout hte rest of the day. I'm still short bonds but will most definitely be out by 2:10pm. Right now, there's nothing going on at all....
Up to just over $32,000.00.................... BTW, I think we are in a bull market in T-BONDS......I've been doing nothing but buy the 30-year over the last 3 weeks and have done nothing but make money.... Let me tell you: IT HAS BEEN SOME DAMN RIDE...
