That's not a an apples to apples comparison because publicly traded companies have so much more liquidity making the distinction in the as if even shows lack of knowledge in valuing equities. TTM and positive cash flow are likely what's bringing it up to there. Add in some airmail deliveries and I'm sure Bezos will have more to brag about and another $20 billion in market cap soon. The companies negative eps is guaranteed to clear up so all assets on that balance sheet last I checked were at $80 billion and it's fairly valued if you want a 2:1 book value at $160 billion and a little more.
If I buy and sell 4 times a year AMZN stock, am I a trader or an investor? The topic of this thread is the fundamental value of the stock. If you don't like the topic, then you are in the wrong thread.

This is what you're missing: Stores Confront New World of Reduced Shopper Traffic E-Commerce Not Only Siphons Off Sales, but Changes Shopping Habits What investors in Amazon understand is that it dominates online shopping, and online shopping is killing brick and mortar. I got into shorting Target because of the data breach, but may stick around based on the fact their sales were flat for two years before the breach. Wal-Mart isn't going to be a victim of Amazon, but second-tier companies like Target, Sears, JC Penney, they're all in danger. Serious danger.
Not particulary, but I didn't start this thread. Also, you still should be aware, that the good times can come to an abrupt end anytime when the fundation is beach sand...
