Why not contact the person at your company who administers the 401K program. Ask them to help you Fully understand ALL of the options at your disposal for managing and investing YOUR 401K. It might be a good idea to get in touch with the person that your company 401K administrator is getting their information from at the investment firm that handles your companies "account", there might be some goodies in there that are not plain to see. Most employees don't know enough to care about it, so maybe there's more there than you know. Can't hurt to ask. Yeah, we know, "I'll never get that old". Play your cards right and you'll never feel old till the very last minute before you're pushing up daisies.
i am not sure why it should be called abuse. Nothing wrong ethically, contributing as agreed, withdrawing and paying penalty as required by law. It could possibly be considered a loophole but there are tons of such right?
There's no point in withdrawing if it's not important. You will have to pay tax and why do you want to do that!
