Sorry,FCAPhil, i dont really get your point, even though i've seen it noted several times.
HOW is market making/specialist, traders/investors working in capital markets NOT providing a service??
[I know many people think work is only painful or sweat related; but really if some have JD tractor with heat + air, that now makes it not work??] Amen on not guilty related to market direction.......

You have to understand that people executing large institutional orders are trying to "get it done" they are not trading for price change like retail, they are trading for liquidity. So yes, the market could be moved to where there are stops. Markets move to where they can facilitate trade.

So what is the process they use to get there? It makes sense that if there are orders to sell at a lower price that just have to be triggered that's where you should go shopping. How do you chase the price down to the trigger?

I got into trading with the mentality that the market is only ever gonna take your money and the only people making money is those who are hustling others. Not trusting people, it seems, is my problem.

  8. I'd imagine it's simply institutions or larger players have price points in mind that are next to retail traders stops so its not with us in mind
