  1. LOL.

You bring up the concept of the ACLU not defending gun owners, then you suggest that the NRA "issue" is irrelevant.

    LMAO.....

    More shawdow boxing I see.

    Enjoy playing with....errrr.....boxing with yourself....

  2. i say that it's irrelevant because the ACLU shill for prochoicers despite the fact that the prochoice lobby is at least as well funded as the gun lobby.

    that's my point

why should they let the NRA do the gun work?

they don't just let NARAL (NOT etc.) do the abortion work?

the ACLU is an advocacy group. they have their target group they want to make happy, their particular prejudices, and their particular strength and weaknesses

much like the NRA, or NARAL, or NOW etc.

all of these groups selectively choose which civil rights are important to them

to contrast with ACLU, look at the work FIRE has done (www.thefire.org) a field of civil rights where ACLU has been pretty darn quiet.

  3. oh, and of course - in yer proACLU shill post - you forgot to respond (lol forgot) ACLU's stepback stance on VAWA.

VAWA, a piece of federal legislation that has stripped all sorts of civil rights - ACLU mostly silent on.

because a large # of the peeps that support VAWA are within the ACLU's core base/constituency.
