Is it the president's duty to create jobs and/or try to maintain current ones?

I'm trying to open-mindedly think that Obama is really just someone who either got plonked in as a puppet or does genuinely want to help people and stop the fighting but doesn't have enough influence to do anything. However with the way he's actually been escalating the war I think he's just acting the same as George Bush, maybe even worse because he doesn't act like a Goblin.

  2. Are you still in denial bro? Do you STILL think Obama will get us out of conflict?

  3. I thought the president's duty was to give speeches on TV and get to be a famous historical dude?

  6. The reason this thread is in a discussion at all is because a majority of us US citizens are clueless as to the basic role of the President and that is to "Run the Country". He is the ultimate CEO or the ultimate in manager. His job is to put together a team of advisor's, just like a business, that are smart enough, politically unbiased and incorruptible as too weather and steer this country through any situation. We have had the habit of electing people based on what they say and not how they manage. We have had the habit of electing attorneys when we should be electing individuals with a proven solid business backgrounds. I think we shouldn't elect anyone with a legal background but that is just my opinion.

Here is a little video that is a bit of a history lesson.
