Are you sure that there's a separate auction on ARCA for what you're trading? What if you try to route to say ISLAND, same problem? It's actually best to ask IB at this point, you can get a quick answer from them as it's a direct question.
Yes, there's a seperate auction, you can check here for official ARCA open and close price wich sometimes differ from the NYSE. http://datasvr.tradearca.com/arcadataserver/Auction.php For ISLAND no problems. IB answer was very vague, as I said they advised to place order outside of RTH with good after time 9:30:00...For me it's a No, it's not possible, so i'll stick with NYSE auction for now...Just wondering how people could get those ARCA prints...
This is what I have for BAC (ActiveTick data) : T,20160108093000070,15.940000,100,P,0,0,0,16 T,20160108093000070,15.940000,100,P,0,0,17,0 ... When I bring up a BAC ARCA line on TWS, OPG orders aren't even an option. When I bring up a BAC SMART line on TWS, I can create an OPG order and then direct it to ARCA but when I submit, it says "The time-in-force is invalid for this combination of exchange and security type." So either there is no opening cross for BAC on ARCA or IB does not allow OPG orders on non-primary exchanges.
I just tried to enter an OPG order for GE from TWS and I don't even get the option when routing to ARCA, it's only DAY GTC GTD DTC.
They do allow OPG on non-primary exchanges, you can easily send NYSE stuff to NASDAQ auction. Why would ARCA even have a separate auction as ARCA and NYSE are both owned by ICE.
