Is it a "Holy Grail"?

  1. It is a day trade system. Trade NYSE stocks daily.
    Buy at open and sell at close.

    Back test shows:

    2004, 160%, 70 trades
    2005, 116%, 70 trades
    2006, 132%, 70 trades
    2007, 209%, 70 trades
    2008, 412%, 120 trades
    2009, 332%, 120 trades
    2010, 130%, 70 trades
    2011, 88%, 70 trades
    2012, 93%, 70 trades

    How do you guys think?

  2. =============
    Congrats on your ##s + first post

    Put a bit of money on it[100 shares];
    thats really the only way to prove it. Its strange how back test usually over states it; almost never does better than back test. Looks pretty good in bear trends[2008]:cool:

  3. What platform you use for backtest? Also what is drawdown, win rate and profit factor?

  4. Based on the figures above, Yes.

  5. This is a pretty good idea.
    Just curious - why did you only get 70-120 trades. CY 2012 had more than 200 trading days.
    IF you did a buy at open/sell at close sort of thing - you should have been able to get a fill every day
