You're right. It's not fixed. I agree it's a drawing issue. If you maximize the chart and/or change the bar thickness, it will eventually snap to the correct line. Very frustrating.
On the subject of it being a drawing issue I also have the issue of trend lines being drawn wrong in different time frames. I'll draw a trend line on the daily touching the bottom of the candle whicks but on the 5 min or 1 min it will be all off. Created a ticket about it... That was 3 weeks ago... No reply There are definitely chart draw/redraw issues with tws
The more you complain, the angrier you are , the more $$$ you lose from trading. Venting your frustration in ET is a very bad way to solve problem. I have used IB for 3 decades. IB is very good for newbies. IB provides many features and also freebies. But some of the features are not that great. Look for specialised quality charting software. Pay for quality charting software. Again don't expect specialised charting software to be totally free from bug. do not just have one charting software.
To a certain extent you're right. But for a couple different reasons I want to stick with TWS and not have to use multiple platforms for different things. The things holding me back as a trader are not my software. But it does get tiresome when there's a version of tws that seems rock solid. Then a new version comes out that seems to Bork things (what these updates do or fix I don't know because they don't release changelogs often)
Charting is not great is one thing. But providing wrong VWAP line is totally not acceptable. What if your moving average lines are always wrong or your price bars' highs or lows are always off, do you think that's okay?
Looks like the problem occurs because the chart doesn't load all of the data. For example the 1 minute is incorrect until I scroll back in time and the history loads for the chart. Crappy programming - the chart should load all the data needed for the indicator to ensure the correct display. Easy enough workaround although extremely annoying.
. If this were the case (incomplete data loading), would all the other indicators like MAs have the same problem?
