Absolutely Intelligence that resides in ones mind, resides in ones self, and the truly valuable kind that resides in ones hands...
Is intelligence important for trading? Yep, it sho nuff is! Raw horsepower is a good thang. Now getting all that raw horsepower to hook-up to the street, well that's another thang. Also gotta watch out for red-lighting! Jumping the gun can let your opponent just coast over the line for the win.
Intellegence Important: Yes Will it Make me Money: Not by itself, it won't Here's what you need: 1. Enough intelligence to generate trading ideas and strategies (remember, good strategies don't have to be complex) 2. Execution skills to carry out your plans. This includes not hesitating when your strategy tells you to take action. 3. Discipline to manage your risk, discipline to control your emotions, discipline to keep your ego in check.
Fearlessness is a good trait to have. Fear of making trades Fear of being wrong Fear of loosing money It all keeps you from trading well if at all.

I think some common sense is a lot more important then intelligence. Most people actually dont have either, but of the two, in trading, common sense is needed I think. Brandon
