Is HotspotFXi a broker or ECN?

  1. How does one go about opening a HotspotFXi account?

  2. This from compareforexbrokers.com on 02/02/2009:

    Hi xxxx,

Hotspot FX Retail was sold to FXCM last Thursday. We are no longer able to open new accounts.

I apologise for the inconvenience and wish you well in your future trading.

    Best regards,
    xxxx

The Hotspot website says "Institutional Foreign Exchange"...
If you are looking for an institutional broker, I'm sure you could just call them.

You could try MB Trading or Dukascopy

  3. HotspotFXi is an ECN platform. In order to access it, you need an account with a broker that has access. Hotspot themselves do also offer broker services. Here is a list:

You can add Advantage Futures to this list (they offer even cheaper commissions than Hotspot directly).

Thought reading the firms website would have been a first obvious step in acquiring this information.

    cstfx

Used to be you can get a pb account directly thru HS with as little as 100k and $20/1MM. I guess that changed when they sold their fcm.

  5. cstfx: You can still do that as far as i know (london branch).

Advantage starts with $18/mm - no fixed minimum, but obviously the account must be adequately funded (margins are 1:20 o/n and 1:40 intraday).

  6. I thought you could get an account with them through Mirus Futures. You could check out their website.
