I remember reading that everyone has some male and some female traits, hormones, DNA, and all the rest. If you happen to be mostly male, you'll lkely be straight, but not necessarily. And vice-versa of course. As far as the bisexual question goes, i think that is an example of nature plus nuture. When it's all said and done, does it really make any differencet to anyone of you who is poking what into where, as long as it doesn't affect you or your family? There are a lot worse things that I spend my time worrying about for my family. Drugs, illness, wars, economy and all the rest. c
AIDS is an illness. What would it be like to have your son choose to live the "gay" lifestyle and get AIDS and die in 10 years? How much has it cost the world to have AIDS spreading all over? Has this helped the economy? Do you know homo's have a higher rate of being pedophiliac's? Do you know there are thousands of them wandering around (the ones that aren't in jail or prison) that want to "poke" your little son or grandson? And maybe kill him afterwards? Just be lucky you weren't raised Catholic.
I see your point, and what I meant to say is that some small element of choice seems to exist in this sexually ambidextrous minority. To clarify: I never chose to be straight- it's just who I am. Zero decision making involved, zero choice. On the other hand, a sexually ambidextrous individual (who did NOT choose to be that way) must then choose whether to self-identify as straight, gay or bi. The base orientation wasn't of their own choosing, however you can still see where there's some element of decision-making involved regarding what to do with it.
Ok, I understand that. Like you, I did not choose straight, I am straight. It is not a desire to be with my same sex, no attraction. So the bisexual people just have more selection to choose from because they like both. I still think it is strange.
Quote from Rearden Metal: I never chose to be straight- it's just who I am. Zero decision making involved, zero choice. Ummm, this is called "unsupported." Every time you look at a female or date a female or marry a female is a choice. You see a wallet that contains money and contact info. You choose to keep the money because or return it to its owner. On the other hand, a sexually ambidextrous individual (who did NOT choose to be that way) must then choose whether to self-identify as straight, gay or bi. Does a sexual predator choose to stalk females? Or is he driven without control? why is it considered a crime then? Does a pedophile choose to pursue children? Or is he driven without control? why is it considered a crime then? Why is it so hard to reform a pedophile? Does a male choose to pursue incestuous relations with female family members? Or is he driven without control? Does an adult who wishes to legalize sexual relationships with children choose to seek this? Or is he/she driven without control? why is it considered not legal then? Does a lesbian choose to pursue other females? Or is she driven without control? Why is heterosexuality or homosexuality or bisexuality or the other combinations above NOT a choice? Why is it sometimes legal or not? concluding that there is zero choice is quite unproven and likely, quite untrue.
it's obvious none of you idiots can get as far as even understanding your own (hetero)sexuality but you have insight into others? too funny
You're right AIDS is an illness that affects everyone, gay or straight. A lifestyle is not a sexual preference, although one may augment the other. And, yes, I thank God everyday that I wasn't raised Catholic. The hyprocisy of a gay male even joining the Church knowing that he had to surpress, live a lie, his whole life is frightening in itself. c
Wouldn't they be bisexual, rather than straight or gay? Yes they can consciously choose which gender to sleep with. But they can't consciously choose to only be attracted to one sex.
