Really? seriously? This is how you've conditioned yourself not to understand and then argue against anything that's said when you don't want to see the glaringly obvious. yeah I did. I also wrote a miracle need only be an amazing natural event. So what. Now you look ridiculous troll theist yet again, arguing against yourself. The word doesn't belong to you to define in only one way or to your 'troll theist' religion bs. All I've done is point out, a miracle by definition, needn't be an event not explicable by natural laws. A miracle, yes by definition, is also an amazing natural event.... by definition. That's by definition of the things you choose to define everything by... dictionaries.
Not sure if you are referring to the particular choice, or the genre in general. Perhaps you prefer: I find religious music to be uplifting. As I have stated before, in our adolescent state of social evolution, religion, if adopted in a private way, can serve to make human social interactions more effective, productive, and peaceful. I agree almost 100% with what is written in this book, which I have linked to before on ET. When I say that religion poisons everything, it is when it goes from being a meditative personal thing to an instrument to be coerced by others for some cause, usually evil by the very intent of the original grandmaster of the religion.
Try to walk into any art museum in the world and try to understand what you are seeing. You will be clueless to about 50% of it if not more. Every educated person needs to read the bible. Everyone should probably read every scripture in the world if for no other reason that the people that wrote it had one thing in mind. The true God that speaks to humans, or let me say it another way, if all the scripture in the world could be summarized by one word it would be: Fearlessness If I had the power to create my own religion, at the heart of my religion the one word that I would use would be: Restraint When we have passed our adolescent stage, it would be: Enlightment
That's fine nitro if you find you need to understand things through the lens of one kind of religion or another. To me religion can only draw a shade on the window you're trying to look out from. Generally confusing everything often unnecessarily. In my humble view, fearlessness, restraint and enlightenment would each be all the more worthy for their own sake alone. If you find religious music uplifting, perhaps, if you haven't already, try Orlande de Lassus. Stuff like Psalmi poenitentialis. Calmer than Gregorian in general I think.
living in a progressive city are you? whether you are or not... why would you try to impose this type of existence on others?
In my opinion your message is a part of the overall message of the old and new testament... in a way. The true Creator is faithful to his word. He has provided a path for you to share eternal life with him - its your option... you can be his friend or not.
Asking whether God is mute is akin to asking whether Snow White is mute. Man is the creator of both, so in one sense both God and Snow White can speak through their creator. In another sense they are both as mute as a dead toad. The question only has relevance in terms of what use man might make of their creations.
1. So lets think this through.. this snow white analogy is the equivalent of Betrands Russell's famous teaport orbiting Mars analogy. Like snow white being the product of imagination... we know there is no way a teapot would be naturally orbiting Mars because we know that a teapot and its orbit around mars is the product of design and imagination not the product of random chance in this Universe. We also know that there is no science showing life evolved from non life nor even a plausible pathway (right now) showing life evolved from non life by random chance. hence arguing Snow White is mute is currently, given our science, like arguing random chance caused life to evolve from non life. in essence we know there is life... like seeing the teapot in orbit... you know its not random chance. 2. For the second part of this argument... If you were to argue that the multiverse hypothesis may be used to explain why our universe is so finely tuned for life...you are essentially arguing there is a universe in which a teapot orbit mars or there is universe in which snow white exists. And if you really get cute and say you could have infinite universes without snow white... you again are arguing you could infinite universe without the proper design for life. Which sort of counters the multiverse argument a bit.
Perhaps, just perhaps: The ordinary argue what is tree using words and letters, sometimes in vain! The wise are mute, blind and deaf - they can feel a tree in reality without using any words or letters!
