i thought this was the meaning but said to myself.."nah that's not clever enough." I like, "The weakness is the implicit assumption that creeps into the "formulation" or model. Work on making those EXPLICIT. EVERY MODEL HAS THEM" i like this intrepretation
A sound interpretation. The characterization of weakness in an implicit miracle surrounded by explicit equations.
That's beautiful! Of course, God the ultimate assumption in any ===! that requires removal or the process of explicitness and definition; i'm sure you and nitro too would agree?
People do need some constructs for communication, like in languages, maths, sciences, letters, arts, etc. But all of them have limitations in order to express and exchange clearly between colleagues our feelings, knowledge, thinking, imaginations (critical for our creations/inventions/innovations), otherwise ... Our intelligence/ intellectual capability/ vocabulary/ maths, even constantly increasing daily among different cultures/ sciences/ arts, may never good enough to cover God, after all is done. We may not call it God by naming it something else as of course we could do that if we really want to. However, same sort of arguments and confusions will exist, simply because of "elephant and blind men" effect.
OddTrader, you can't know for sure, right? So, what is your advantage is assuming a God? over, any other model, human? let's take our analysis more local. "what can we know reliably in our lifetime?" is a great question
Are we sure there is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Center_of_mass ? Q "Center of gravity" redirects here. For the military concept, see center of gravity (military). For the precise definition, see centers of gravity in non-uniform fields. This child's toy uses the principles of center of mass to keep balance on a finger. In physics, the center of mass of a distribution of mass in space is the unique point where the weighted relative position of the distributed mass sums to zero or the point where if a force is applied causes it to move in direction of force without rotation. The distribution of mass is balanced around the center of mass and the average of the weighted position coordinates of the distributed mass defines its coordinates. Calculations in mechanics are often simplified when formulated with respect to the center of mass. In the case of a single rigid body, the center of mass is fixed in relation to the body, and if the body has uniform density, it will be located at the centroid. The center of mass may be located outside the physical body, as is sometimes the case for hollow or open-shaped objects, such as a horseshoe. In the case of a distribution of separate bodies, such as the planets of the Solar System, the center of mass may not correspond to the position of any individual member of the system. UQ
center of mass is a useful concept, agree!idiot. allows useful prediction the funny thing is if i were to offer you a similarly reliable trade system, you'd fall all over it
As you will no doubt agree. Every once in awhile my brain goes haywire. It seems you could get two more hilarious cartoons out of this one. (1) Imagine everything is the same except the guy pointing is dressed as a priest. or (2), the same as (1), with the guy pointing dressed as a priest, but the caption changed to "I think I may be able to help with this step."
Basically, theoretically, everyone is a theologian - having a self-devised/imposed theory, based on her/his experience/knowledge/etc., about whether there is God and what is God. Someone who never thinks of God does have a theological view for there is no God. But still a self-made theologian by stating/saying that! As said before, one must know first what is God in order to say there is no God according to that particular definition (s)he has accepted! There are obviously more than one illogical arguments incurred here!
