Is global warming a sign of mental weakness?

  1. That statement is total nonsense. You are clearly so bound up in your preconceptions derived from religion that you are incapable of looking at the evidence.

Rationality works this way: evidence => conclusions.

  2. If you don't like that one, then look at the dozens on that site documenting the retreat of the glaciers. I'm glad you made this response because it is a good example typical denailist nonsense. Quibble about a small detail and incapable of taking in the great weight of evidence. Look at some more of the photographic documentary evidence of the retreat of the glaciers and make an honest assessment.

The retreat of the glaciers is just a small part of vast body of evidence for AGW.

  3. The issue is whether man is the sole cause.
He is some cause ... but not the sole cause.

The evidence of glaciers is in fact evidence ... that is easy.

Whether that evidence fully supports that man is the sole cause ...
that is entirely unsupported and only a theory that is unproven.

Other better scientific models prove contrary points.

So ... yes facts are facts ... theories are theories ... but the leap of stupidity is unsound.

Man CURRENTLY adds a fraction of a percent per year to the carbon content of the earth.. and that is supposed to account for changes starting a century or two ago? Go tell the Chinese to set their hair on fire and run in circles yelling "oh my god, it's hot in here".. they are laughing at global warming and buying cars...

  6. Climate change is a fact, says China

A deputy director of China's most powerful economic ministry has come out swinging against climate change denial.

Senior Chinese government figures have described the view that climate change is not man-made as an "extreme" stance which is out of step with mainstream thought.

  7. Right, it is the oil-sponsored scientists who are the purists with "true science" on their side and no agenda. How could I have made that oversight?

  8. Thus spoke Index Piker, spokesman for Big Oil (and Big Insurance), who only want what's best for YOU, shareholders be damned. Only research sponsored by vested interests can be trusted.

Of course, the title of this thread has nothing to do with a nuance like "anthropogenic", it simply says "global warming".

    An interesting equation, also simplified:

Melting ice is a sign of warming. (A=B)
Warming is a sign of mental weakness. (B=C)
Therefore, melting ice is a sign of mental weakness. (A=C)
