Is fully automated trading a fantasy? Your opinions here

Discussion in 'Automated Trading' started by ybfjax, Mar 13, 2007.

Is a 100% automated system possible for a $10k (futures/forex)? To live off of?

  1. Yes, you can print money in the markets (large, consistent short term gains).

  3. It may be possible, but no one would sell it.

  1. Thanks for the confirm.

I can pull it off in the YM, ES and NQ, but I have to leave the ER alone, it's little bit too hot for me. I'd rather make my money slow.

    Just my trading personality.

    Good trading,

    Hi polr_trader,

It would take me too far to talk about this on this forum. If I ever do talk about it, it will be on the site I gave a link to. I don't want to repeat myself.

Differential Geometry (for the local case, and Differential Topology for the global case) is a natural machinary to do market analysis with imo.

It is reeeeeeeeeeeally hard for me to believe, given Simmons background, that he doesn't use engineered manifolds with suitable geometries to do his market computations on. That said, I don't know how to reconcilde your experience with my intuition.

  6. If one tick would be a great result on gb, what's the equivalent on US 10Y or 30Y, given the eCBOT mkts behavior is often different than the Eurex?...

  8. Christ, what a delay in answering a question. Three years almost. World record!

  9. Never would have seen this otherwise. a 3 year delay, probably what trading on dialup was over a decade ago.
But yes, its the best thing ever. Like Richard Pryor in Superman 3, wake up, push the on button, and see the P&L rise all day. America...what a country!
