Is everyone in a fullblown panic because of coronavirus?

Is it possible millions already have this thing? Hard to believe the virus is not everywhere already when there's so many celebrities with it.

Because it's not about the death rate, but hospital bed capacity.

Yes. Not only possible, probable. Lots of people who had unexplained flu complications as early as last September in the US. Likely it was all over the place before. I don't know if it was here in September of last year, but I believe December. If no one had heard of the Coronavirus (it hadn't been put out there in the media) this would be a bad flu season with some real bad strain that causes pneumonia that no one would have been able to explain.

    But here we are.

  4. Given the fact that it has a defined incubation period and then symptoms they believe they tracked it successfully back to November/Wuhan. Given the nature of that city the first spread would have been local and the first few hundred might have misdiagnosed as flu.

However given what has happened since January and the testing for it over there and elsewhere around the world makes it more unlikely it was around earlier or even here. I think they did a good job linking spread to other parts of China and then Iran and Italy and West Cost linked with travellers to China.

Also I read that this virus thrives more in colder weather thus the breakout now.

Who knows but think it hit our shores when they said it did but would be scarier if carriers can show NO symptoms but still spread it and then the possibility is it could have been here (was told to get a flu shot years ago when around kids or elderly because even if you dont get full symptoms you can still carry it)

All I know is when I feel a sneeze or sniffle coming I start panicking hah

  5. It is highly probable this has been here for weeks and weeks, probably months. I believe I had this the beginning of February. After spending most of Jan. in AZ. I returned home via the jam packed flying tube. Less than 48 hrs later I became quickly ill. Same exact symptoms. Dry cough, sore throat, headache and a fever, slight fever but none the less a fever. I was sick as shit for the first three days, and the whole deal lasted about 10. I stayed home as I usually do when ill, drank plenty of fluids and rested. No doc visit as it wasn't necessary.
I have spoken with several people I know who have experienced these exact symptoms over this past winter writing it off as the common flu/cold. In my completely non scientific, not so humble opinion, we are at the middle or end of this, not the beginning. The only reason we're seeing a rise in cases is due to the fact there wasn't anyone testing or even looking for it here until a few weeks ago. If this was spreading as fast as they say, we'd be seeing, have already been seeing, thousands of new cases per day in the U.S. and hundreds of deaths daily. We're not and I don't suspect we will.
Of course this assumes we're getting realistic numbers out of China. If there's ten million dead Chinese in a ditch somewhere, then we have a shit storm of death coming our way.

  6. Problem is it is still so.similar in many ways to Fluand common cold and everyone reacts differently to all 3 it is hard to tell. Rudy Gobert and Mitchell are not really showing any symptoms except feeling a little fever.... weaker strains may have been killed off and the spread ended and now the strongest ones are spreading.

it is usually weaker strains that live on while stronger ones kill their host before they can transmit. Typically (not always) viruses get more mild and adapt with their hosts over time.

Yesterday, I went for a quick trip to the bank to get cash and coins for the laundry machines in my apartment. Was fine, until about afternoon when I had some cough and headache. Took some Vitamin C, gargled with salt and hot water, boiled some sliced ginger, add stevia and drank it. I felt better right after. Decided to spray with lysol my jacket which I wear when I go out. I figure contact with my jacket pre-sprayed with lysol on the outside might kill any viruses I come into contact with.

Chinese placed 10 huge incinerators in Wuhan, China a couple of weeks ago. Why? I would think there are more casualties then, they are letting on. They are probably, burning the dead bodies to prevent the transmission of the virus. Maybe, Corona Virus victims in the US should all be cremated? That, atleast, makes sense.

Hey for real Small, keep us posted on how you're feeling. Good luck, I hope its nothing. Get some fresh air and sun if you can.

(I wonder if tanning beds would help people. Ahhh, probably not. They might though. Never know. Captain you belong to $PLNT... if its still open, I'd lay in one of those bitches for a few minutes each day... couldn't hurt. Just spray it down before you get in.)
