Is "Divine Incarnation" an oxymoron?

Discussion in 'Politics' started by andrasnm, May 27, 2007.

  1. To answer this properly one must examine the word "divine".
    Who is divine? Some would say divine is not of this world. Divine is sacred and holy, something of God's. That is a brief answer and it is close to the truth. See wiki
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divinity
    Can God or anything divine incarnate? Some people would say gung ho; of course. God can do anything he wants to, that's why he is God! I somehow don't buy this....
    Empirical evidence, (the state of the word) today would prove that God does not meddle into our affairs too much - evidence is the word of today. Screwed up, bigtime.
    So either God does not care or he is just not something to interfere or commingle with the word. In fact with the known Universe. Could this be the case?
    If, for the moment we agree on this then we clearly can see that there is no need to divinity to came into be flesh and blood, to incarnate. Buddha, Moses, Mohammed were not divine either, in case you were wondering that I am just picking on Jesus, none of the prophets were divine, or incarnation of God.
    The prophets were Masters and of course, they were "special" and this does not mean to denegrade them a least bit......

  2. God can do anything??

    O, really?

    Can he lift a stone he deems unliftable?

    if he can, his powers are limited.

    if he can't, he is a fraud.

    can god contradict himself, of course not therefore he is a fraud; and his powers limited

    logic my friend!! once again lites the way

    .. "ergo ipso fatso"

  3. God is, and there is nothing else. If God is all there is, does this mean all form is divine? Not exactly.

    You may want to sit down for this.

    It is not possible for God to incarnate. What is considered "flesh" is an out picturing of mind. It is an appearance, giving the impression that one mind can be segregated. This is not possible.

    Incarnation is a belief in the impossible. It's purpose is to establish a place where love cannot enter. God is love, so it is a place where God is kept out.

    But if God is all there is, what is incarnating?

    Incarnation is a veil over the face of God's Son. It is a mask.

    The Son of God is masquerading in a form other than as he was created.

    Equal to God, he is no more capable of incarnating than his Father. Yet, he seems to be accomplishing the impossible.

    Nothing the Son of God believes can be destroyed. Bodies are beliefs. They are symbols of impossible ideas. Beliefs are not normal for the Son of God.

    Faith was invented just to accomplish the impossible. Bodies prove the Son of God can be destroyed...and if he can be destroyed, so can his Father.

    This is not possible.

    Bodies are perceived. If you see bodies it is a sign you are wishing to change what God created into something else. Look instead with vision and you may see a better representation of the Son of God.

    If you see bodies, you believe the Son of God can be destroyed.

    As I said in another thread, the power of the Son of God is always maximal. If you see bodies, you are using the power of the Son to see yourself other than as God created you.

    Bodies are weak because a mind in conflict is weak. The Son's power is unopposed. It seems to decrease when he opposes himself. This is what is meant by " a house divided against itself cannot stand" .

    Bodies are proof that God can accomplish the impossible, and therefore has no limits.

    If anything, the Son is testing his unlimitedness by placing limits upon himself. Bodies are limits. They are a limit on love. So they are a limit on you.

  4. This is a "personal god", your kind of god and it is the image the western mind has while running it's little, stupid rat race in the corporacy. This god looks like an old man with a beard who has trembling voice and a big stick.
    The god of a billion Hindus and easterners is different, which is right? You decide.....

  5. The Bible says, "The Word of God was made flesh".

    Strictly speaking this is impossible, since it seems to involve the translation of one order of reality into another. There is only one order of reality. The idea of dimensions (fragmentation) of reality is false.

    Thought cannot be made flesh except by belief, since thought is not physical. Yet thought is communication for which the body can be used. This is the only natural use to which the body can be put.

    Healing is the result of using the body solely for communication. Since this is natural it heals by making whole, which is also natural.

    All mind is whole, and the belief that part of it is physical, or not mind, is a fragmented or sick interpretation.

    Mind cannot be made physical, but it can be made manifest through the physical if it uses the body to go beyond itself.

    Mind can be manifested through the body if it goes beyond it and does not interpret it as limitation.

    Whenever you see another as limited to or by the body, you are imposing this limit on yourself.

    Are you willing to accept this, when your whole purpose for learning should be to escape from limitations?

    The body is an imagined result of what is not true. Free your mind from the belief that this is possible. In its complete impossibility lies your only hope for release.

    Freedom from illusions lies only in not believing them.

    The body is thought under arrest. Do not arrest your thought in this world, and you will open your mind to creation in God. If the mind believes the body is its goal it will distort its perception of the body, and by blocking its own extention beyond it, will induce illness by fostering separation.

    Communication ends separation.

    When you equate yourself with a body you will always experience depression. When a child of God thinks of himself in this way he is belittling himdself, and seeing his brothers as similarily belitted. This cuts you off from salvation.

    As you see the body of another you will see the use to which you have put yours. If the body becomes a means you give to the Holy Spirit to use on behalf of union of the Sonship, you will not see anything physical exept as what it is. Use it for truth and you will see it truly.

    When you look upon a brother as a physical entity, his power and glory are "lost" to you and so are yours. You have attacked him, having attacked yourself first. Do not see him this way for your own salvation. Do not allow him to belittle himself in your mind, but give him freedom from his belief in littleness, and thus escape yours.

    Loss of any kind is impossible. Yet all loss comes only from your own misunderstanding. Misuse the body and you will misunderstand it, because you have already done so by misusing it. This will lead to hatred and attack and loss of peace.

    A mind that has been blocked has allowed itself to be vulnerable to attack, because it has turned against itself. The removal of blocks, then, is the only way to guarantee help and healing. Help and healing are the normal expressions of a mind that is working through the body, but not in it.

    Learning must lead beyond the body to the re-establishment of the power of the mind in it. This can be accomplished only if the mind extends to other minds, and does not arrest itself in its extension. This arrest is the cause of all illness, because only extension is the mind's function.

    Percieving the body as a separate entity cannot but foster illness, because it is not true. To see a body as anything except a means of communication is to limit your mind and to hurt yourself.

    Health is therefore nothing more than united purpose. If the body is brought under the purpose of the mind, it becomes whole because the mind's purpose is one.

    Attack can only be an assumed purpose of the body, because apart from the mind the body has no purpose at all.

    Joy is unified purpose, and unified purpose is only God's. When yours is unified it is His. Believe you can interfere with His purpose and you need salvation.

    To communicate is to join and to attack is to separate. You will not be able to do both simultaneously without suffering. Perception of the body can be unified only by one purpose. This releases the mind from the temptation to see the body in many lights, and gives it over to the One Light in which it can be really understood.

    There is nothing so frustrating to a learner as a curriculum he cannot learn. His sense of adequacy suffers, and he must become depressed. Being faced with an impossible learning situation is the most depressing thing in the world. In fact, it is ultimately why the world is depressing.

    The Holy Spirits curriculum is never depressing because it is a curriculum of joy. Whenever the reaction to learning is depression, it is because the true goal of the curriculum has been lost sight of. Guided by the ego, the body is ruled by chaos. Guided by the Holy Spirit, it is not. It becomes a means by which the part of the mind you tried to separate from spirit can reach beyond its distortions and return to spirit.

  6. ===============
    Title of this little news release,look at more envelopes/letters.

    Actually , andrasnm;
    i would partially agree, looking at the lives of say all 6+ billion people , God does not meddle to much,
    because most don't ask much or at all.For those WHO ask God is up to much.
    ============================================
    So i would say dont look at small samples.

    And actually the principle , while unique in Jesus;
    something similar happened to Gideon /others in old testament.

    The Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon,Book of Judges,6;34;
    Amplified Bible says The Spirit of the LORD clothed himself with Gideon.

    Other version translate the Hebrew ;
    The spirit of the LORD enveloped Gideon.
    Judges chapter 6,verse 34
    Agree with all 3 translations.Hope this helped, it helped me:cool:

  7. What a joke!

    Those who serve the lord of death have come to worship in a separated world, each with his tiny spear and rusted sword, to keep his ancient promises to die.
