I don't believe her point is to compel you, she outlined one possible way to trade. If you are looking for another possible method for entering into trades, see if you can make it work for you.

This survey is for those who doubt day trading can be profitable either because they've been unable to find an edge or they believe there are no edges that retail traders can exploit consistently.

1. Have you tested at least a week's worth of the trend line breakout pullback setups on the instruments illustrated over the past couple weeks (CL & NQ)?

2. If no, why not? If yes, did you find a risk:reward ratio on the trades that offered positive expectancy over each series of 10 trades?

3. If you did find a positive expectancy trade management plan for this setup, did you trade it yet? If you didn't find a positive expectancy trade management plan, can you post a screenshot of your spreadsheet (or other record) of your hypothetical trades?

4. If you found a positive expectancy trade management plan and haven't traded it yet, why not? If you didn't find a positive expectancy trade management plan, and you can't post a record of your hypothetical trades, why not?

 

There was someone trading FB a while back using some trend lines of some sort...his winning days outnumbered his losing days quite easily, and his winning days were always more profitable then his losing days, he was posting his blotters everyday as well.

Its a shame he can't continue trading at this moment.

 

Wait, doesn't Austin P-- who is a real person with a verifiable business and combine participant--- state that these are very difficult times to trade the CL? Should weight be placed on the no lose brigade or on Austin OR are they both right to a degree?

Austin's trading methods are different from mine (he's not a scalper). Since neither you nor I know his method, it's not our place to determine whether the price action in CL offers him enough opportunities to meet his trading goals.

On the scalping side of CL, however, how about those trend line breakout pullback setups today!

 

do not be deceived, momentum trading is dead and buried ....best u can do is to break even over 1000's of trades.
