Is day trading worth it?

  1. lol of course he did. Can't be seen posting a position to a trading forum.

  2. lol.

The live call issue terrifies some.
It's not about predicting vs reacting and the rest of the BS.

  3. Such entertainment. Thanks, guys. I am a convert! Short from 51 is looking shaky here at 58.5. Stops? Or are those lost in the effluvium?

52.75. Or did you miss that?

As for dp's fabrications, I've never traded other people's money, I've never been banned from any site other than this one ten years ago, I've never blown up an account. If dp has any evidence to support any of these allegations, I'd love to see it. I'm sure he's not presenting falsehoods on purpose, being the superior human being that he is.

  5. You weren't banned from BMT, no? I must have missed the one trade post out of nearly 10,000. Long or short? Stop?

    DBPhoenix's last post from BMT:

I find pontificating about markets to be boring, particularly when I slip into it. That stuff is best left to the vendors since they don't trade. The hindsight stuff is even worse. I made the posts about gold and silver because somebody was trading it. Or so I thought. Turns out they weren't. But, in a nutshell, price failed to hold above the supply line, in which case the LOLR became down. So gold fell to the last reasonably major trading range, which is where it's been ever since. I'm not trading it, though, so it's of no interest to me. If someone is actually trading it, I'll be happy to help with their strategy.

  6. No target and a mental stop. (I had an emergency stop at 58). I got out at 54 for a 3 point loss. I got short again at 53.50 (10:11) and out at 51.50 (10:24). Now just waiting. Two trades and with real money I would be down commission and maybe 4-6 ticks on slippage.

The first trade is a beginner mistake. I got excited and used a twitch as a pullback (which it wasn't). I've been doing this in sim for a little over a week, making these sort of mistakes and still coming out ahead most days.

EDIT - I'm not going to post my entries and exits here any more. It doesn't help either side watching a noob splash around. I have a journal up and will post all my trades at the end of the day if anyone is interested.

  9. Isn't that a main ingredient for most edges? Market movement?
