Is day trading worth it?

  1. An edge is outside of market behavior. A strategy works within market behavior.

An edge example from the past is 2 different FX dealers with one's prices lagging the other. That was a free money edge while it lasted.

Markets rhyme but they dont repeat-- this is a classic misunderstanding and is a tell tale sign of being tricked. Good luck! Surf

  2. The market will repeat if it's paid, and quite often it does get paid because the speculators use simple rules that cause them to throw their money at similar places over and over. The trouble comes when the speculators run out of money or run out of balls, and no long offer the market the payout it needs. Then the pattern stops repeating. Personally I am undecided on the utility of repeating patterns. But my gut says those would ultimately fail to have an aggregate positive PnL.

  3. It's not just your gut-- extensive academic research prove this to be the case. In addition, common sense should make this abundantly clear--- there are rooms full of PhD's backed by big money searching for such patterns, when the rare one is located, it's quickly neutralized.

Of course there are, but this is Markersurfer we talking about, studied TA for over 10 years, found no edges, now assumes no one ever did and none exists, accepting otherwise would unveil to himself how big of an idiot the guy is, but that just a truth he is not willing to accept.

  7. With so many edges, with them coming out of you ears, can you demonstrate at least one of them ? But let me guess, you can't because you might give me an edge for free, right ? But what so terrible about giving one edge away out of the hundreds you must have ? One'd imagine you are a wholesaler of edges, surely you can do a buy 1 get 1 free deal some of the time ?

  10. No, I don't check out curve fitters who makes money from subscribers rather than from the market. They seem unable to make money from the market.

Your don't have to trade forex. As far as I can see, all markets work the same way. So feel free to demonstrate an edge. If I have access to that market then I will be happy to put some money on it to make the demonstration real. As you probably know, the market only cares and reacts to real money.
