Is day trading worth it?

Discussion in 'Professional Trading' started by Laissez Faire, Jun 18, 2013.

  1. How many units is my business. My business here in this thread doesn't require the size involved.

Is 10k units alot ? I did crazy things in the past and got units up to 200k.

  2. Good idea. Don't see how else the "successful" home traders can win.

ur business is to badmouth legitimate traders while you're producing a chart in which you held for 100 pips against you. for you? 10K units is achieving the Grail.

What you're doing is soul destroying. Apart from disrupting otherwise constructive discussions, you're f*cking yourself repeatedly. I'm not sure you realize it.

  5. Thanks for that bit of wisdom. I never did work out what was the ideal upper size, and 10k had been the bottom end of my play.

  6. The soul needn't be destroyed if you don't gamble. So don't take your issues out on me.

One reason the "successful" home traders fail is precisely because they gamble. When they gamble, they have high failure rate, resulting in their inability to show their trades.

The more red arrows on a chart, the more important the man. I've put on roughly 120 trades this week, so you will excuse me when I say that your one trade means nothing. Next up - Joe's console window showing a bunch of numbers that don't mean anything (because that's the mark of a true pro).

  8. My business is to get people to play a few hands in a game that they say they are an expert in. So far I seem to be the only expert.

You could argue the more robust firm is the one with a diverse range of strategies? The prop firm provides the low commissions, routes, etc, the traders bring their edges. Just a thought.
