Is day trading worth it?

  1. So are you trading profitably so far or not ?

    Why the hate ?

  2. Not yet, am just getting it all worked out.

Not hating, merely slapping stooges around. Also what harm can there be to ask to see some trading action ? Not like I am asking anyone for their secret sauce. If people can spend all day arguing, surely they can afford a little time to do trading ?

  3. Dude, you are so wrong. Any reputable prop shop teaches an edge. The reason being is that real prop shops only profit if their traders profit. I think you have confused the phony commission churners from real prop like susquehanna and knight.

Secondly, account size has everything to do with it. Make 10% per year on a million or 10% on $1000--- I am surprised you would say that.

  4. Hm, I can make 30% a year on $10,000 guaranteed.

    on 10 million ? I don't think so.

Face it, it's just a lot easier finding edge in the capacity constrained areas which are to small
for the big boys to play in. That's why retail traders with puny account size can survive.

  5. I don't know where you live, but how can you possibly make $3k a year and see that as success ? You won't even be able to afford a spot under a bridge with that kind of money.

It seems the retail crowd is unable to appreciate the most basic things in trading, is it any wonder they fail ?

if anyone was making 3k a year all they have to do is trade 100 lot and your doing ok.

daytrading has always been where it's at - it is very worth the effort if you can get an edge, which btw they are not handing out at the prop shop.

Don't bother arguing with this clown. He's a failed trader. One of those "if I can't do it ....nobody can types". So sad that he's such a hater. Has to come on a trading site and go around trolling telling people day trading can't be done. I know plenty of day traders doing very well. If he spent as much energy on working on his trading as he does coming on here being a clown he might actually become a profitable trader.

Funny how he blabbed trend following CTA's were dead, since then they are crushing it. Now day trading is dead. I guess he hasn't noticed the SP's and Crude having huge swings....day traders paradise.

Keep up the 100% wrong rate Surf.....

  9. Do something you love. If you don't love day trading, don't day trade.

I think a few people mentioned this already, so why not reiterate o_O....If you want a secure career in this industry, with your background, go the fund manager route, or something along those lines - more money, less stressful, and much more stable income.

  10. Hey Mark, I hope you are well. Prop shops that only profit when their traders profit need to hand out an edge--- otherwise they would fail. surf
