Why? If the stock didn't sell off, who cares? Maybe their board said "Let's lead the way. We're not gonna feed the fire of this ever growing social media assault on large U.S. corporations (for whatever the whiner flavor of the day is)... and even dignify this with a response." Smart move.
I think it is protected. I may disagree with what you have to say, but I defend your right to say it. If not, it leaves open a huge grey area of interpretive battles: "He called for genocide of trans people!" "No, I don't believe birth men can be women and vice versa." Closer: "I hate those people and wish they were all gone." Closer: "I despise those people and wish death on their tribe." Closer: "It would be great if they were all killed." Closer: "Let's go to war with them so most will be killed." Closer: "Someone should kill them all." Closer: "I will vote for anyone who pledges to wipe out all those people." Closest: "We should commit genocide and wipe out the entire race." Where do you draw the line in this set of statements? Is it predicated on the people? Is the first genocide calling in the case of Israelis, but it's okay to DEFCON up to the last one for the Palestinians? Who decides? You? Me? The government? Please, no. That opens up a shitcan of tyrannical outcomes. That is why free speech should be theoretically absolute. But it's a tough issue: what about direct threats? (I will kill you). Truly offensive suggestions? (suk mydikbich - example).
What the guy said was horrendous and it just happened and people are linking it with JnJ rapidly...JnJ should act fast to shut that down..it is good sense not some woke BS really. JnJ has to make sure people realize this guy is no longer part of them and doesnt speak for them.
"From the river to the sea" is a call for the elimination of Israel and the killing of all the Jews. You can read the intent directly in the Hamas charter.
Good thing being Palestinians does not mean one hold Hamas's intentions then. We certainly know your buddy Bibi's intent as he presently wipes out the Gazans though.
Yeah, every rational person knows what "from the river to the sea" means. Hamas Leader Says Students Chanting ‘From the River To the Sea’ Is Proof of Western Support for the Destruction of Israel https://www.nysun.com/article/hamas...western-support-for-the-destruction-of-israel
right wingers are anything but rational, which is why Bibi hypocritically uses the phrase, and that goes for Islamic fundamentalist leadership too. www.npr.org/2023/11/09/1211671117/how-interpretations-of-the-phrase-from-the-river-to-the-sea-made-it-so-divisive https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_the_river_to_the_sea
