So tell me: what benefit do bigots (i.e. virulently antisemitic or bigoted people) gain by hating and wanting to harm or murder... ? Do they even know. They must feel some vast sickening, unhappiness that inwardly gnaws at them compelling them to lash out for no godly reason. Making them feel better... for a moment. Pathetic, inferior sad little humans. Are you one of them.
It is not illegal for consumers to take their money elsewhere if they dont like what a company is doing or saying. Same as My Pillow guy or Chik Fil A etc. If donors dont like a college's stance on Palestinians and they decide to take their money elsewhere, it is not a First Amendment lawsuit. Those donors are also experessing their right as to where they spend their money and the university can go raise money from other donors or cave in. it is not fair in the result they produce. Like the My Pillow employees should not be laid off and lose their jobs because their owner went fucktard but it is what it is. There is a difference between first amendment case and what happens in the open market with people using their wallets.
The world can relax, "Israeli" has been reinstated in front of "couscous salad with spinach and tomatoes". Yale removes, then quickly reinstates ‘Israeli’ couscous salad in dining hall after Jewish student pushback https://nypost.com/2023/12/14/news/...in-dining-hall-after-jewish-student-pushback/
Of course. If asshole donors don't like BLM marches on campus, they can demand the president be fired. Doesn't mean it's not a fucking witch hunt. The argument lies on whether schools that receive public dollars can do it. A Yale student took a photo of the menu which debunked the allegation. There's been some beef over Israel "culturally appropriating" Arab/Palestinian dishes of the region and trying to pass as their own. Part of their "Palestinian people don't exist" campaign. https://www.middleeasteye.net/opinion/israel-palestine-food-colonial-conquest-target-how
Saw these Palestinians near me they were making typical Palestinian foods for friends and it was kibbeh, grape leaves, hummos.....like every country in the middle east has that shit.... There are those foods in Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Egypt etc... so I dont buy the cultural appropriation of food bit.... Public or private schools cannot remove a group unless they point to some policy or univeristy infraction to support it or risk getting sued....not a first amendment issue. If Uni decides to ban BLM group because donors hate and nothing more than BLM group can say they were banned for no reason and go through an administrative process. BUT...none of this is 1st Amendment case per se. denying a group to speak on campus who properly follows the rules could raise 1st A issues. But then again if a specific regulation is cited or threats of violence are there then the school crosses the threshold needed to control speech.
