Is Apple (AAPL) giving up its EV ambitions?

  1. Musk claims he tried to sell TSLA to AAPL about 10 years ago. Tim Cook wasn't interested.

    Exactly;
    wrong decision to ever get in EVs, good loss cutting LOL.:D:D
    The good news is TSLA is upticking a bit + RIVN is only down\ peak to valley 90% LOL.
    Heard RIVN exec explaining on talk radio how complex the auto business is ;
    one part gets missed or shipped late+ goofs up the whole deal.
    He did not even address the Kelly Blue Book problem+ question why buy RIVN when F, TM,HMC have dealers + not much parts problems.....

    Smartphones are becoming toy gadgets produced by many companies around the world.
    Apple had to find a new product for sale, EV was a good idea.
    Bye bye opportunity :) Bye bye Tim Cook... :)

  6. Given Apple's history of playing its cards close to the chest, it wouldn't be surprising if the news is part of a broader strategy or merely speculative noise. Apple is known for its innovation and entering markets only when it has a significant contribution or disruption to offer. With the EV sector's complexity and competitiveness, Apple's silence or perceived hesitation could indeed be strategic, allowing them to develop their technology further without the constant spotlight.

    Is it just me, or do others see this??

    Why would Apple plow ahead on this, when in a year or two they could pick off Rivian and Lucid for pennies on the dollar in bankruptcy!!

    Run with it...You have the cars, tech, and the distribution/service centers.

    You already have The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration OK these cars. Just slight modifications to make them Apple cars. Put Apple charging stations (and Apple stores) inside old Sears/J. C. Penny's buildings (malls...strip malls).

    Better yet, convert old Burger Kings to fast charging centers...Already established freeway locations!!
