  1. Looking for an update on your trading...

Also, could you post an intra day chart with volume as well??

    Thanks in advance:)

Hello TraderD72, sorry for the wait. In the US the weekend after the Thanksgiving Day is nothing but eating left overs, and SHOPPING :D

I have switched over to Hong Kong server, and very happy so far. I have been trading it, just not every day. I sometimes have to work late into the evenings.

What I have noticed with N225M is that, it reminds me of the old days, when rebate traders dominated the equities markets by trading the spread, and churning up big volumes. There's lots of volume on both sides, but the instrument doesn't move much.

The 5 ticks per handle doesn't help much as it is actually killing the volatility. The index may have moved 100 points, but that's only 20 handles. So you have to go in with size to be able to extract some respectable profits. Then of course the commissions would add up too.

But lately has been an exception as it has had some nice moves due to the volatility from our US markets. Here's a 3min chart from last week. And thanks for your interest.

    Good trading,

  4. Thanks for all the great info on this thread.

Reading this got me interested and I subscribed for the data feed at IB.

I even made two quick scalp trades right after the opening today, except I did not realize that I prompted the full contract into TWS and not the mini.
Huge contract, on one tick, the other one was a wash, I netted $77.09 after 2 roundturn commissions.

I better move into the slow lane.

By the way, in sierra charts the symbol for the mini is N225M-200712-OSE.JPN

    :)

GC, that's a good mistake :p The full size contract is a little too rich for my account also.

Are you converting the profits back to US Dollars? So far, I have been keeping the profits in Yen. The way the US dollar is falling, I think I might have made a couple of extra bucks for nothing :D

  6. I am also trading ESTX50 and the domestic indices so IB is shifting funds back and forth among currencies as needed.

  7. Long off the open was a gimmee. Unloaded last batch @ 15105.

This product would be killer if it traded in single ticks.

Lately its been moving but at times it will put you to Fng sleep.

Can anyone recommend a broker that offers the Nikkei225 Mini but with a low minimum deposit requirement?

Unfortunately I am unable to use IB due to the 10k min deposit.

  9. Nikkei is ok -- but the action can be a little slow. I'd reccomend US indexes if your starting out.

I would recommend YM or NQ.

Hi Proximo. Well I am based in Sydney, Australia so need something around my own time region. Closest market with high liquidity is the Nikkei excluding Kospi Options.
