Is anyone trading the Nikkei 225 Mini?

  1. Simulated trading may require that you already have trading permissions for the SGX ... does that work?

When you trade in another currency your wins or losses appear in your account in that currency and are then accumulated. If you change less than 25kusd of winnings back at a later date it will be at the ideal rate, if over 25k it will be at the idealpro rate.

  2. Although I don't have a position currently in N225, I do trade that and the other asian indices. I seem to gravitate toward the Singapore mkt as I do well there.:)

  3. Thanks. I'll update my trading permission. There is also another product SGXNU that is USD based, but the spread is wider.

With all these Nikkei products, which one is the best product for US traders?

That is a good question... I've been keeping my eye on the N225m in OSE. Which one does everyone find most liquid, and most tradable (**of course depending on your style).
:D I'm still training my stomach to take some of these swings...

  5. I have updated my trading permission in my ib account, but it is still not working in my simulated account.

    Hey guys,

How come no quotes for N225m on IB?

What's going on? Is it a holiday? I know now it lunch break time. But even before this there was no quotes! What's going on? I can see on Bloomberg.com webpage the chart of the Nikkei but no quotes(bid/ask) in IB?

    Hmm...

    Please help.

    Thanks,

    99

  9. Schaefer, can you tell us once again what the spreads and depth are like on the N225M? You mentioned 5 ticks per handle so that would be about 2500 yen spread, right? Equivalent to about $22, so that's a lot for a mini contract... have I got that right?

    Thanks.

PS: Those Heiken Ashi bars look so smooth... but don't they sometimes revise themselves after they've drawn, based on subsequent price movement? Do you trade with those?

  10. No its 5 points (1 tick) spread with huge depth.

    5points *100 = 500 yen
