Yes, we don't really "compete" with anyone. We develop trade plans to take advantage of rhythms in the markets. At times when these rhythms are not present, the savvy trader waits until they reappear...and they always do.
The "real world" is a given and is the same throughout history. Again this comes down to a FOCUS issue. You need to decide EXACTLY what is it that you want in your life and just FOCUS on that!! Focus on your OWN job, your own goal and don't give a s*** about anything else. What do you care if they backstab you and the boss is envious of you? You just remain professional and cordial and be a bit tactful at times and that's it. Backstabbers and mediocre bosses are what we call "losers", people who are stupid and/or lazy and/or miserable in their own lives and will remain where they are their whole life and all they do is make sure you, who are talented and diligent will also remain where you are with them. And I will tell you, losers exist everywhere and every level of the human hierarchy even at the very top. It's up to you if you want to play their games and have your life dictated and stopped by those "losers" and what they do. Your choice. But one thing though, if one can't rise above those losers, eventually one will become losers themselves.
Because (and just some possible scenarios)...it can lead to them trying to get you fired. So now in addition to your daily work duties, you have to manage this issue. You boss, being the envious "loser" can put on more work on you. So when you start getting behind, he'll say you are not working "hard" or "low' performing. Co-workers can spread rumors about you. etc etc. Point is things can get out of control real fast if you can't "manage" your work environment.
You do realize that when it's that time to lay people off, they tend to fired the least popular team member. The saying goes "All work and no play, make jack a dull boy". Haha Hehe.
Did you communicate with them? Many times it's NOT what you think. FOCUS on your own job. Did you do your job right? Everything all correct? And they are the ones who's just not able to handle it even after talking and communicating with them? Then FOCUS on your own life goal. Is this workplace where you want to be as part of your life goal? If not, then, you know what to do. But be mindful though, people problems exist EVERYWHERE. If it's the person him/herself who has the problem of not being able to talk to other people and communicate effectively, the people problem is still going to exist in the new workplace; it might be mitigated a bit if the people happen to be nicer but the problem would still be there. Bottom Line: NEVER ever play the losers' game with them. If they are really as bad as how you describe them then they are already losers. They have nothing more to lose while you DO.
Uh...I can't tell but it seem you think I'm still working? I'm not. Left that place long ago. So don't need any advice on working.
If the place is so shitty, what do you care if you get laid off? You would be leaving there anyway. Laying you off is actually doing you a favour. You get severance pay AND higher unemployment insurance vs. if you quit by yourself. Again, like I said, just FOCUS on your job and let the rest takes care of itself. The universe DOES have its way of righting itself out. Sometimes it just takes a bit longer.
Was just telling you what I think. I wish there is some way to distinguish "you" and "you" in general. People really need to learn to FOCUS instead of just compensating one thing for another, just my opinion. I hope you were laid off so you got higher severance pay and higher unemployment insurance.
