Trading is lonely, but at the end of the day that’s what we signed up for. If one gets a dopamine hit from interacting with colleagues, running meetings, playing office politics & etc, as many people do, then trading is an extremely poor choice of career path (it almost always is regardless but I digress) and you can make far more money with far less risk by climbing the corporate ladder.
It is a lonely path in two ways: 1. The tail of the return curve is populated by a few outliers, not by the majority. I cannot follow the herd and expect to produce outsize returns. To be successful, I have to get off the beaten path. 2. I have to pick a method that fits my personality and competency. What work for my friends do not work for me. Therefore I don't think trading is a team sport. However, been a loner has plenty of rewards compare to having a day job: 1. No need to kiss up to a boss. 2. No subordinates to deal with. 3. No customers to deal with. 4. No deadline, budget.. 5. Can be a true digital nomad, don't need to go to the office..... I am a lot happier than when I had my corporate day job. I can trade anywhere I want to be, on a cruise, vacationing in Singapore, Sydney.... Make more money too.
Yes, and I think finding a good life partner that suit you is very important for trader, and you must have some hobbies and hangout with people outside from trading. Otherwise, life is so empty when relationship goes down.
%% LOL serVes you rigth for being late ; pardon me\ if you are actually early. Like my gold haired sister asked , bro , are you the last one to get there + first to leave?? Told sis ''NO, but some times I am the first to leave''; so she sort of read my mail-50%.LOL Good church pattern ;that 9' 9'' God -hating Giant had a coat of mail[scale armor] + roared like a lion or bear; ALL Israel ran away. Then David realized , all alone, except for Lord of Angel Armies he slew lions + bears.
