Is a Bloomberg worth it?

  1. there are plenty of way to trade news without signing a 2 year contract for $1700 per month. Reuters is only $300 a month and you can get DJN on it. SO all your missing is the BN wire which is decent, but not worth the diffrence in price. You can allways get a free month trial on bloomberg

  4. another option for you: check out tradethenews.com. For $52 a month you get a decent feed on stocks, events, etc. Sometimes things can lag, but overall its great and will pay for itself quickly.

Dowjones are claiming beating Reuters and Bloomberg on the BOE rate cut, stimulus package, and coutrywide takeover. see www.djnewswires.com What is the best low cost platform to get them on and how much do they cost?

  8. Overrated piece of junk. They charge for downloading data available for free elsewhere. Charting is way better in $100 a month Qcharts (and of course esignal, cqg and others). Fundamental equity data is a mess. Intraday historical data only goes back a few days. Feed lags badly on FOMC and high volatility days, stupid interface ESA Index IGPO, then adjust range, period,.... wtf is that??? and so on and so on....

Probably worth it only if you trade bonds, fixed income. But it would be a lot cheaper just to interface a cheap datafeed to Excel and program the analysis yourself.

  9. When earnings news is breaking and I want to know the reported earnings + guidance on major stocks as quickly as possible... what are my best options? How much faster is BBG/DJ/Reuters news, when compared to briefing.com?

  10. briefing gets there news from bloomberg, they need to write the news up to put on the website. so your looking at least a minute later, or way to late to trade in treal time.

earnings comes out mostly on 2 news wires BUS and PRN and you can get both of them pretty cheap. either on dj news service, reuters, or bloomberg
