Not even close. Especially for someone asking this question!

The title of your thread and the sentence in your first post are contradictory...

    no

you need a hell of a street [ market ] smartness also along with ' experience ' just to break even after costs like brokerage

but if you live in India you can 'live' with 1000 usd a month.....i get by with half and that includes my donation to the market gods

Must be a typo. He/She would have to make 60k from trading.

One of my accounts started with $45,000 capital, mainly from mid of the year. Now it is $110,000. $65k earning. I trade both stocks and futures.

Still I do not think $65k is enough for a full time living. And I do take calculated risks. My pressure is low since I have other accounts too. If I blow up this one, I'm still in business.

So the answer is, it is possible, but not easy.

Remember there is no employer health insurance for an independent trader. Make sure you factor that into your monthly expenses. If you have never looked at the cost of "Affordable care act" policies you will be shocked. I was paying close to 900/mo with a 6K deductible before I found I could get VA insurance.

Actually the answer is this is possible, but need some work.

I get another of my accounts at Merrill. Just stocks and ETFs. No futures. Started with $38k, YTD gain of $73k. 211% YTD return. No crypto, no MEME stocks. In this age, a lot of other "investors" want us to take their money.

I bet $73k is good for a full time living for most people. Of course you'll need to take care of the tax etc.
